Photo Icon in profile...

My author profile has my photo icon in it.
How do I get that for the Discussion Board Profile, for that matter, how do edit this profile as all?

A writer's profile is different than a bulletin board/forum profile. It's the same website, but different software, so you have to create a writer's profile "elsewhere"

The Bulletin Board/forum profiles can't be created/edited. That feature no longer works. Sorry. However, you can edit your BB/forum profile PICTURE by going to the "user CP" page, link in the upper left side of your screen. Besides forum profiles, most other features still work. You can also change your signature there, hide seeing signatures, etc.
edit: Any BB/forum profiles you see were created prior to the software no longer working.

There are two pictures you can post to your profile. One is called an "avatar" of which you can see mine as a teal/green gif plus sign in a zero. You can post whatever picture you like, but it's against the forum rules to post pictures showing nudity. It's not exactly against the rules, but you shouldn't post pictures that aren't your own (posting someone else's picture from the forum will likely get your account banned).
The other picture you can post is a profile picture, but that is only viewable from people who go to your profile page.

It's been a while since I created a new profile, and you might not be allowed to post a profile or avatar picture with a "new" account. After posting comments enough times, some magical number (100? 150?) that new-ness is gone.

However, you can set an avatar one you have 101 posts. Same for the profile picture on the BB side of things.
