Phantom Menace II

Alot of people didn't like this movie. But, I kinda thought it was a good start to the series. What did you think of it?

Great in fact, but could have been better. It's just a shame it was a Star Wars movie, compared to Eppisodes IV through VI, it was an ugly cousin.

My phantom Menace experience can be summed up thusly: Jar Jar!

It wasn't just that the character sucked, it was that George Lucas had finally gone too far with the whole merchandising, money-machine toy tie-in thing that he started with those fucking Ewoks.

By insisting on that character, he basically turned his back on millions of fans who wanted a movie with depth, not potential action figures. It seemed to be more about his desire to impress us with all this new technology instead of telling a story.

Sorry to go off on a Anti-Jar Jar rant. I know we've enough of those. . .

Sadly Jar Jar sold a whole new generation on Star Wars. I hate him, but I can see his purpose. What really pisses me off is he becomes a Senator for crying out loud!

We just bought it the other day, and suprisingly enough I liked it.

I've never really been into the older Star Wars, so I couldn't tell you if it could have been better.

But it was enjoyable enough for me, and I'll gladly go see the second in the movie theatres.

Maul is nothing next to Sidious. He just had a pretty face. Anyone who puts together a two ended light saber deserves to cut their own legs off. It's not like a quarter staff for god sake.

it was good...could have been better! but the one song "Duel of the Fates" was taken form a Celtic poem....even sung in Gaelic if iam not wrong!
