Phantasea Resort (Story Collaboration + Mutual Enjoyment)

(If you're interested, please contact me here and include your email in the email line so I can respond to you. I don't check these forums very often, but I check my email everyday. Interest can ask me questions about the direction I want this to go in, whether I'm openminded to some suggestion, when I'd be available to write, or personal questions about my writing style in addition to your own participation.)

Looking for coauthor to write about a mysterious resort where people can sunbathe on a secluded beach, but the longer they stay, the drowsier they get. Eventually, they drift asleep, and their dreams become intensely lifelike no matter how exotic they become. When they wake up from their dreams, their bodies feel like they've gone through whatever they dreamed about and their emotional state remains captivated, but in reality, they haven't even worked up a sweat although they might have gotten a tan from staying out in the sun.

The main character would be a 30-45 year old woman, possibly married, possibly career oriented, or whathaveyou. The partner can select any matter of details, but one way or another, she's looking to escape the routine of her life. Maybe she read about the locale on an ad, heard about it from a friend, or stumbled across it by accident while booking a trip for somewhere more conventional.

In the beginning, her dreams would be rather reserved. They'd simply involve basking, undressing, drinking a cocktail, or gazing at a surfer. Eventually, she'd get more daring and consider undressing in front of someone, having someone undress her, getting a massage, or having a full body naked dance. After that, she'd start indulging intimately from enjoying the masseur to swimming with who she's gazing at to exploring the beach's jungle and finding a waterfall to becoming a firedancer.

Eventually, she'd hear other people gasping during her dreams, and she'd wonder if she's being watched, but when she wakes up, nobody would be around. Her dreams would start to become more sociable at that point as she dreams about being surrounded by spectators or spectating others. The firedancing would involve flashing and petting before getting sensually ravished at just the pace she's comfortable with in a crowd. Her swimming would involve wearing a daring bikini before feeling it get peeled off as she gets lost between skin and tide. The jungle would have a tribe where she would learn how it's OK to trust and let go since nobody would hurt her. The masseur would rub her at a villa where others are also getting an exquisite treatment.

As excited and satisfied as she is though, her curiosity remains intrigued. She'd plan on having someone she knows watch her while she dreams to see if they can find out the secret. What she doesn't know though is that desire is part of the resort's plan to get more people to come there. After all, as much as she's getting more excited from being watched from in her dreams and now wants to be watched from beyond, the idea of watching someone else dream has plenty of excitement to offer too, especially when they see what really happens there and want to dream with them.

The story at that point would drift into a supernatural direction where the observers would see whiffs of colored smoke surround and flow around the character, sometimes taking personal shape, sometimes not. The character's body would remain still, but the smoke would eventually have defined personal forms take place. One of them would notice the observers before becoming more apparent, and try to tease and entice them into joining before saying the beach only has enough energy for one dreamer at a time, but if they can convince the dreamer to dream about them, then the apparitions could draw them into her dream as long as she kept dreaming about them.

The observers could be her darling, still in contact ex, friends, neighbors, friends of friends, newly met acquaintance, therapist, or whatever else the coauthor can think of. The point is at that point, the difference between fantasy and reality would start to get blurred since the observers would have to get her actually interested in them enough to dream together. They'd probably have their own fantasies they want to act out with her too, so they'd try to convince her to dream about them a certain way... or maybe the exact opposite - they might want her to surprise them with something original instead of being too predictable...

...and as for the resort owners, they of course want more people to get involved to make their resort famous, but they also have luxurious standards to uphold. After all, they know the apparitions who make it possible, and they need their experiments to bring the apparitions back to life funded somehow.
