Hello all,

This is my debut post on the board, and I've decided to start it off with some of my sketchbook drawings. I'm a professional illustrator, and all of these are personal studies and erotica that I've never shown. My secret stash. I hope you enjoy them (and I hope I'm doing this right...). I look forward to meeting you all!

Hey Phalo

Nice pieces, really great work.

I especially like 1, 3, and 5... the expectant longing of the kiss, the unashamed pide of her breasts and the body pose as she is undressing.

Can't wait to see more.

WOW!!!

o_O

These are awesome, Phalo! More more!!

You've had classical training? Your work is very professional-looking, and dynamic, and I love your loose but confident line!

Thanks guys. Salvor, I like your name :) I dig the Asimov reference.

Here are a few more, a little more explicit, including some comic pages (!)

LOL Yeah Old Mayor Hardin is a personal hero of mine. "It pays to be direct, especially if you have a reputation for subtlety".

Remind me to hire you for some comic work I want to do should I ever win the lottery and can afford to pay you.

Yeek... how can I prevent quoting from re-posting all those images? I guess maybe post links instead of inserting images?

Thanks E and Kcar (and back at you, you talented girl). I went to school for art. I wouldn't call it classical training, but it was solid (figure drawing, color theory, all that). My professors were into abstract expressionism, which isn't at all what I was interested in, but the groundwork is the same for all art in the end, so I learned a lot.

My influences come from all over the spectrum: comics artists (European mostly: Moebius, Bilal, Gimenez), american illustrators (N.C. wyeth, Dean Cornwell, Charles Dana Gibson), fine artists (Van Gogh, Degas, Fragonard), fantasy artists (Frazetta, Brom, Bros. Hildebrandt, Michael Whelan). Of course the list goes on and on. When you live long enough, just about everything becomes an influence :)

My mainstream work has a definite sexual undertone, but isn't overt. You guys are the only ones who get to see that. I love this forum for that reason! It's like the ultimate "want to come up and see my etchings?"

Thanx, Phalo. *blushes*

That's exactly what I did...I took classes in life drawing at a fine art museum, (even one in Anatomical Drawing), as well as the color design courses...but I'm afraid I only made good grades in those because I did so much extra-credit work. :D My black abd white drawing and design courses I aced easily. It's in my bones.

My professors were into abstract expressionism, which isn't at all what I was interested in, but the groundwork is the same for all art in the end, so I learned a lot.

My teachers didn't care for my drawing choices either. <_<

And I love Michael Whelan's work, and, indeed, showed my drawings just opposite him at a show in Columbus yrs ago!

PS: Don't worry about reposting images dude. They are worth seeing in context again. ;)

PPS: I fergot! Do you use models or photos, or do you create these fine images from your head?? o_O

Ah--very cool!

I thought your style was reminiscent of really good comic art; I love that style--you carry it off very well :D

Frazetta and Brom are also my favorties :) Both are very inspiring on a dark, visceral level.

Thanks for sharing--I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work here :rose:

I love debut threads from new artists (new here anyway)!!! This is some really cool work. Among the list of influences, and pardon me if I read it but didn't see it if y'know what I mean, I think I'm also seeing some Milo Manara in there.

Great stuff either way. Hope there will be more here soon!!!

Adore the pictures! Especially love the first ones in both sections, coincidentally. The sheer erotic sensuality of the first and the playful sexually of the first post in the second group really shines out to me.
