This has probably been done... but I'm curious about the animals people have in their lives. Type/breed of animal, name, indoor/outdoor, why they chose that pet, etc. I think it can tell us a lot about the person.

Here's my menagerie...

Wolfgang -- German Shepard, drove 500 miles to get him from a rescue. Found him on the internet, so I guess you could say he's the first online love I've met in real life :)

Rebel -- Greyhound/Pointer mix. Pain in the ass dog. Picked her up free one day when I was pissed at my husband.

Weasle (originally Armondo) -- Yorkshire Terrier/Lab cross. Cranky old man. Had him longer than my husband. Earned the name Weasle because he lets the big dogs distract you while he attacks from behind.

Turkey -- Fat, spoiled, stupid cat. Sits and lays down on command. Loves to sleep on the computer.

Spot -- My daughter's cat. I'd toss his ass outside if she'd let me.

The Barn Cats -- 2 strays that won't leave.

Orca -- My Thoroughbred. Amazing, if slightly psychotic animal.

Heidi -- My husband's Paint mare. She's big, mean to the other horses and lives to tear down fences.

Special -- My 4 year old's Shetland Pony. Cute, shaggy black pony.

Lil Bit -- My pony. So wild she can't even be approached in less than an hour. Currently pregnant, due in July.

Two cats mother and son called Cleo and Boris....both are nutter's ;)

I want a horse!

I'll be more than happy to sell ya one! :D There's one I intentionally left off the list because I consider him extra. If the price is right, I'll even deliver him to NY.

Okay! First I need to find a rich man, marry him, have him build me my log cabin in rural Maine complete with stables and then I'll call you.

:D

Hell, if he has a twin, we'll just be neighbors!

wow pagancowgirl thats some list :)

my house feels like a zoo and we only have two animals they are a hand full though

sabre - a bouncey german shephard thats bonkers and wouldnt hurt a fly

misty - a tiny little cat that makes more noise then an atom bomb

2 cats.

Bayley joined us when the receptionist in my office told me that she needed me to take the last remaining kitten from her cat's litter off her hands or he'd be going to the pound. I told her that if she could convince my husband, we'd take him. The little conniving wench brought the little kitten over and the little snot curled right up in hubby's lap. He's been in love ever since.

Giggles joined the family because a friend of the hubby's cat had kittens and needed to find homes. We had already had Bayley for 2 years and were thinking of getting another kitten anyway. Seeing how cute he was just clinched it.

Yesterday, Giggles decided that he could fly. Tried jumping from the top of the ladder to the top of the tv. Didn't quite make it. He looked like a game of Plinko gone horribly wrong as he fell from ledge to ledge on my entertainment center. He's graceless, but he came out of it okay.

Reminds me of a story...

My mother's cat, eeyore, has no feeling in her belly (which is another story all together). One night, mom and I were up late drinking and listening to music with candles lit all over the room. We kept smelling hair burning, but couldn't figure out where the smell was coming from... we finally figured out that the cat was standing on the TV with a candle under her belly! She was fine, just lost some hair and smelled bad for awhile... but I've always wondered what would have happened had we not been in the room.

I just lost one of my "kids" three days ago. Her name was Yip and she was a Belgian Malinais. She was the best dog I or my husband has every had. She was an ex police dog that could not work as a police dog because the sound of her nails on tile would freak her out. She was very protective of me.. but also very loving. This dog was one of a kind, and I miss her with all of my heart.

Penny, our 9 year old Golden Retriever. Her main job right now is sleeping 22 hours a day, less if there's a thunderstorm.

:) That's a dogs job - sleep all day, bark a few times a night, eat, sleep again:D

La Huesera, I see you've selected your AV, it's great!
:)

We have a black cat named Yoda, the crazy kitty. Hes big and fat and likes to lick the back of my head when I am sleeping.

My mom has 2 dogs and I picked them both out they are Keeshounds.
Tinker is about 11 and cant hear and Chance is 4 and is an escape artist. If I had a nickle for everytime mom called me to come help find the hounds, well I would be rich, living in Maine with one of Pagencowgirls horses! :p

DirtGrl

Pudgie - my 4yr old shih-tzu/pomeranean mix. She is black and white.

I had a dog for 15 years, parents had her put to sleep. small tarrier.

I want to get a dashound (weiner dog) but can't get any dogs, so i got me a fat little guinae pig named Wompy.

have another guinae pig and 2 hamsters in the house but they arn't mine.

Two cats- Cheyenne is one of them- she is 2. Cody is the other- he is 12. Both are indoor only Aby's. I selected the breed originally after researching cats. They were described as a cat that dog lovers would like, since they do things like play fetch, etc.
Very athletic and active, also vocal. My first cat was a blue Aby- my next one will be, also. Cheyenne is fawn color and Cody is ruddy (common brown).

I have a Bearded Dragon (NOT a bearded clam, for all you wiseasses out there- lol), and my roomate has a Siamese cat, so I guess it's kind of mine too. I'd have a dog if I could, but my apt building doesn't allow dogs :(

Damascas and Akanke, the orange and calico respectively...

and now !!!

Well ... before i got divorced i used to have 2 cats and 2 dogs ....
it's funny ..... i didnt have any kids , and the ex and i fought for custody of the pets ..... i was left homeless , so i had to relinquish my rights as an owner ... anyway , i would love to share my ex pets with you all coz all i have now is memories and a couple of photos ... spooky ... my prized kitten ....

I currently have two animals in the house. A 5 year old black lab/golden retriever mix named Buddy and a 3 month old kitten I adopted from the mess of my sister's barn cats, who I named Satin.

Buddy is one of those big dogs who can't decide if he's human or a lap dog. Either way, he's just plain wrong. :D I got him as a 1 month old pup from a little of 12. The mother was a stray who wandered onto a friend's farm and they were caring for them all. When I got there, he was the last golden colored pup and I knew I had to have him. I love the big oaf to death.

Satin was picked up because my 5 year old has been begging for 2 years to get a kitten and she's finally old enough, I think to start caring for it by herself. After she got it, I was the "best mama in the whole world". Now how can a person refuse something like that? :)
