Pet words. Do you have them? Words or phrases or preposition constructs or whatever that you frequently use in your poems? Oh of course you do. You may bot be aware of them, but I'll bet certain pages in the cdictionary that smells extra of you and your poetry.

For instance, I have found that I use the word 'somehow' much more than what is really statistically justified. I love that word, as it can give any and every statement a slightly different angle.

hey Liar-
just the other day I saw a passage in one of Marias poems that I had used in mine and I thought, the bitch!! she stole it pure and simple..now I cant remember what it was :D

by the way, did anyone ever tell you that you have a really cute nose?

I've used "love's distresses" on more than one occasion alluding to Goethe's poem of the same name.

I'll have to go read them again to see if I see any more common threads.

There's too much grass in poetry--not pot, the green stuff. And there's way too much hush and drift.
Hush, have some grass and drift with me.

"...or something like it"

I have been told I am obsessed with

cars, regret and water

but damn, I am an aquarius filled with way too much longing, so of course, regret, and damn

cars are just sexy

just ask Tara.
and a few others

Seattle<--hushing and waiting for the promised grass

I dunno... "and" seems to turn up a lot. :D

Actually, I find that I have to tie myself to the mast to keep from bringing up Ulysses. It's just such an intriguing metaphor for so many things.

Let me know next time you need help with that mast thing.;)

And Tath-I've noticed more than one "steel wool" sky in your work. Just trying to be helpful.

Oh!

I forgot to mention my pets.

Fuck has always and will always be my favorite activity, um, word.

I also love cock, pussy and thrust.

Don't they look just beautiful together?:p

Hush, have some grass and drift with me.

I am now paralyzed when it comes to using those words--I write a poem and think "hush" or "drift" and freeze. lol.

I don't have much grass in my poems though. Too many stars and flowers for sure, but no grass...

:D

Well, then, get with the program, Ange. You owe us a grass poem. ;)

I think when this threrad gets a little bigger, we should all write a poem using everyone's pet words... you know, compile a list and say OK...here they are...have at it! Extra points for fewest connecting words.

What kind would you like? Mowing or smoking? :D
