Personal opinions, Women Men who smoke

I am not looking for a poll on the topic. But I do not read much about women who smoke.

In your opinion should smoking be brought into the story?
Is it sexy, or not?
Do I dare bother to write it in?


I know there are many readers who do not like smoke. But I am a smoker and several of my "AKA" characters are too. I find knowing the real person and their personal habbits to be part of the entire scope of the situation.

Not only that but to a smoker it is a big part of the sexual build up. Of course the satisfaction in completion also.

I know not every one of the fifty cigarettes is sensual to know about. But taking time to describe a particular one. Is that going to be viewed as "filler" material or good description?

Final note to all the anti smokers! Who stupidly go overboard about not smoking all the time.

I want to share with you. This is not a lie or a joke. My Farther Died at a young age and he was a heavy smoker. He enjoyed his cigarette very much as I do. Right up till fifteen minutes before he was pronounced dead on a hospital bed he smoked his last. I miss him dearly without regrets. You see he died of a massive aneurysm. He too was preached to all his life about the "bad habbit" and what it was doing to him. As they sliced him open for the autopsy they would not believe my mother that he smoked. Never that he smoked two plus packs a day. We were told it was just not possible. He was 48 years old with a birth defect in the brain that ruptured.

This is not a reason to Smoke! That is a one in a million example.
It is how ever I can smoke. Because I enjoy the smell the flavor.

So let me just say this. I knotice no matter what age a smoker is when they Die, without failure. Smoking only seems to affect the last few years of ones life, never the first few.
So get off my ass about it already! I got to go have a cigarette and calm down now thanks a lot!!

I gotta say, I didn't read everything, but right now, it's 4.30 am over here so I am dead tired ...

Anyway, my opinion about smoking and erotic ... I think it fits. Just think about a woman with red lipps that smokes a cigarette ... or maybe even better: a cigar ...

And don' forget about the other stuff that you can do with cigars - just ask Bill Clinton and Monika Lewinsky ...

I am one of the three people in California who smoke. As no one I know smokes and I mostly do it in my home or while waiting for a bus I must say I miss having a man light my cigarette. An old fashioned sexually tinged intimacy - think about the mechanics involved: perhaps holding his hand as he offers the light, looking into each other's eyes with a myriad of expressions to choose from; taking the first drag and looking into his eyes; blowing it out.

If you mention it I say go for the big buck.

Mr. Tongue: I read erotica as much for the writing as for the erotic. I want the buildup, but I fear the majority of Lit. readers want the crap as fast as possible (I think it's called writing for strokes).

I agree I am way more into the build up my self. I tend to skip over what may be a good topic if there is not enough detail.

I want to yell "hello, I'm not there how did her shirt disolve off her body if no one tells me?". Why write if ony the writer still only knows the story?

I love spanking it just as much as the next guy but how do you do that sitting in front of a key board. I know it can be done. I rather read a good story then with my mind fresh with detail lay down and recall the story. I can even join in at this time in my mind.
