Are you a bard in hiding, spinning off sonnets in PM land, or a thread lurker who hots a less than bubtle tone?

Receiers

Do you relish the attnetion, or have you faced the same question 500 hundred times?

This Thread is prompted by comments I read on r_baby's thread:

Not to be ungrateful or anything to the PM-senders, it's nice to get messages, but its nice to get interesting messages that obviously have a bit of thought put into them!

What do you think?

well I could do without the ones that are "u wanna cum?" or "sounds like you need a new man, how about me?" where they give you no info at all, except in the second case you know they must have read your sad post, or his, if they have been following who you post with.

The ones I like are the ones that talk specifically about a post I wrote and their own experience or reaction to it where they reveal some personality or interesting aspect of themselves.

The ones I love to get are "I am back, this is my new nick, I missed you" along with something just between us that lets me know it is not just someone playing with me.

I just received a PM today with "hi" in the subject line, and "how are u?" in the body of the message. Please. I am high maintenance when it comes to grabbing my attention. If you don't have anything more original than that to say to me, then don't even bother with the keyboard strokes. I highly prize wit, originality and uniqueness from anyone I would choose to correspond with on this board. Which means, I have come across precious few I would choose to share more than a PM with.

i agree ^^^^ if i get a one liner PM..i discard it mostly.. or 'do you wanna chat' umm..unless you come up with something a little more attention grabbing than that...then NO.. i do appreciate getting messages..but.. c'mon..
