I obviously drank far too much at the weekend, half the posts here today are just overloading my brain and my eyes are permanently glazed... Or, maybe I didn't drink enough, and I got blood in my alcohol system? <sigh> Pass a Bud somebody...

Nay, Lass...

Oi want two points of Zumerzet's Foinest Scrumpie... :D

Scrumpie

I can find scrump in the dictionary, does that mean that scrumpie is the invective form of it?

scrump n. Anything withered or dried up; spec., a withered or stunted apple.

Used in a sentence: A mouse is baked in the oven to a ‘scrump’, then pounded to powder.

Curiously enough, it's also a transitive verb meaning to steal (apples), esp. from orchards. This leads, predictably enough, to the word scrumper, which is one who scrumps (why can dictionaries do that when English teachers never let you use a related word in a definition?)

But scrumpie? What in the blue frigid blazes is that?

Scrumpy is gross, tastes like pickled rats, (not that I drink pickled rats, you understand ;) ) and is altogether brain rotting stuff!

So Jimmi? You can drink my share hon, and I'll sit and watch you, and giggle whilst drinking my Bud..... ok with you?

We are trying to hold January in March here in MN. I don't think it got up to 10 yesterday. It looks warmer out today, but since I don't have to be at work and I promised Jacqline she could have all my positive energy I am playing it safe and staying inside. The wind has died down, but I'm gonna wait and see if the kids across the street make it home from school before risking my delicate skin... it's been so mild to this point we are metabolically and emotionally unprepared for arctic air masses. I'd be willing to venture we could freeze a nuclear explosion today...

Foine with me, Lass - Oi 'ates American neer-beer with a pashun -

We are so close to them there Boogers, that we are inundated with the stuff - Favourite tipple in MY local is Coors Light - near-beer at best... brewed by Molson's here in Canada, along with REAL beers and ales. :D

At least Brit and Canadian Bud is a full Foive per cent - but still tastes like "making love in canoe" - Fuckin' near water!

Oh, i'm sorry. I didn't know your words had a serious aspect.

~looking out my window at blue skies while the warm breeze wafts the scent of blooming flowers in toward me~

I think this time of year must be why most of the immigrants to California decide to come here.

I think that spring, real and warm and gloriously soft, scented with the first grass being cut and the flowers pushing out into the sun then blooming in a frenzy of desire to pass their pollen to the next generation, will be to you soon, Lukky.

Perfect, Jimi, you can go all thrilled over the ladies hardware. I'll tend to their soft ware. :D cym's prescient wishes seem to be coming true, even though we're not out of the woods, old man winter's beginning to lose his grip, clearly, and so it's time for a young man's thoughts to turn to... well... soft wares. ;)

*Anneski coughs, splutters and nearly chokes at the vile insult, but recovers after a Marmite sarnie and a bottle of Bud ;) *

An Escort, I ask you!! Nah, my baby is a 2.8 injection Capri, the replacement for my last 2.0 Capri, which sadly went to Dagenham heaven last week. Bit of a step up in acceleration, oh yes indeedy....

The gauntlet has been thrown!

Hah, Sir Knight - dost thou not understand proper English as she is spoke in the West Country?

The Cornwall, Devon and Zummerzet vales,

were the cradle of the Arthurian tales,

along with a goodly portion of Wales...

We hope that I your Yankee ear regales

with accents strange to cure what ails...

:D

Let me bring you songs from the wood
To make you feel much better than you could know
Dust you down from tip to toe

Let me bring you all things refined
Galliards, and lute songs served with chilling ale
Greetings, well met Jimi, Hail!

As it was a compliment, thankee kindly young sir... 1600E cortinas... my, that takes me back... classics themselves, even if not sexy like my silver beastie :D
Oh yes, Cologne V6 'C' engine, 160bhp.... mmm...

According to my friends, I am possessed by a speed demon, and need exorcising.... I just say they're jealous <evil grin>

Hail Sir Knight!

Prithee allow me to give thanks for the Bard Ian's gentle words...

'Tis only us "of a certain age" that still appreciate the manic caperings of the flute-playing genius. ;)

Winter-tide is almost o'er
soon t'will be as days of yore
Old Sol will beam and make us cheery
With loaf and cheese and flagon beery
My wench and I Spring celebrate
Bliss to All is coming... GREAT!

As the snow melts, so does the icy reserve of Winter!
