Perogies!

Yes, and they are yummy Potato raviolis that have onion and cottage cheese inside. They are boiled then browned off in a skillet.

There are different variations on the serving style of this dish, but I like mine smothered in sauteed onions and eaten with mustard.

OH YUMMY!

MMM mmmm good!

I like the ones filled with cabbage ... sauteed in butter until golden edges and warm inside.

I could eat them like candy!

pirougy.... mmmm.........

bandoukies? klotschke? *has no idea how to spell these* nummyness...

Spanakopitta
Baklavas
Moussaka (without the meat for me.)

Ahhh, now I want Greek.

My nana used to make them, but she got sick and she hasn't done any home made Polish food in ages :(

Be careful Starfish .... that request could get ya in trouble around here .... ;)

My old boss made perogies and brought them to lunch one day. They were scrumptious! Haven't had em since. They have canned ones at my grocery store, but those scare me. Anyone had canned perogies? Are they good?

Canned perogies? That's almost as bad as pickled okra! EW! Moussaka, YUM. There's a little greek restaurant downtown that is amazing. Damnit, CH, send me some baklava!

Hey, Guess what I made for dinner....
I even made to many. Oooops... snackie treats.

Pyrohy/perogy/perogies
Now I'm hungry for them. Guess I'll wait until lunch tomorrow. I love visiting my family in Canada cause I know I'm going to get perogies---One of the vacations where you there is truely no way to watch your weight. mmmmmm---thinking of perogies sauteed in butter and onions and then smoothered in sour cream. Lately though, I've been frying mine in butter and salsa.
Laurel---run from the canned perogies! That sounds soooo nasty. I don't want any noodles that have been soaking for god knows how long. There are one in the frozen food section though. The brand I buy is called "Mrs. T's". At the grocery store we have there are two different varities and at this house we've decided that the potato and onion one is the best.
If anyone wants a perogy recipe I have one ;) Auntie's best recipe of course :) I think I could give up pizza forever and substitute perogies.

but didn't she say without the meat, YoungGun? :D

i thought it was piroughie.. or something like that... btw...

She said mousaka without the meat (which in my opinion takes away from the taste) tehn she said she wanted Greek. that is why i offered myself.
