Gee, that's going to be effective. A population of 90,000 vs. hundreds of thousands of gay people.

If it's such a problem for them, they can call themselves Lesbosians and be done with it.

Well, I think it is a copyright issue about the word lesbian vs. the people of Lesbos. But do you know what ?

The people of Lesbos are known as Greeks, Sappho was a bisexual poet.
And the people of Lesbos in that little group which is suing lesbians, should grow up. And move away from the whole game of homophobia. So back to the starting point, I think it is one big joke, and if the "bitches" of Lesbos wins the case, then the whole world will laugh at them. And Etoile, it is great seeing you back.

And heck, if the people of Lesbos were more intelligent in their minds, they would get an arseload of money, by being more welcome to the lesbian people. And welcoming lesbians on the island, and having discount for lesbians, and so forth. Instead of this shite, which it is really. So it would be a lesbian tourist paradise.

Seems to me that it's just a few nutjobs on Lesbos getting all bent and suing one group with "lesbian" in it's name. Sounds like a PR stunt to me, as well as yet another media ploy to publish something titillating. Dumb...

Lets thing about this a bit. Lets help out the islanders...

They could call themselves Lesbonians but that sounds like an even gayer term -- at least from a guys perspective.

They could call themselves Lesbianites but that makes them sound as though they have a painful crush on Superman.

They could call themselves Lesbosits, but that sounds like a missing tribe of Israel.

They could call themselves Lesboneese, but I don't think the Lebanese would appreciate that either.

They could call themselves just plain old Greek, but even that has a gay connotation.

Thus I think the earlier composer who suggested Lesbosian is probably the best.
