Ok, so I've just turned 20, I've only had sex with 2 women (one was a one-time thing with a friend when I turned 19 and the other is my gf, who I've now been going out with for a year). Yesterday I noticed the skin on the inner part of my foreskin (obviously making me uncircumcised, the frenulum is also intact if that makes a difference) and my glans has started to peel. The skin underneath is the normal colour of my glans, but the sking on top has a slightly grey tinge to it. This has happened once before, and the conditions and processes are identical. First, there's a lot of drinking going on every night (ish) for a few days (about 3 to 5 days) in which I also sleep completely naked (something I very rarely do). After this, during the hangover, I continue to sleep naked for a day or two and also experience mass dehydration, which also seems to occur in my glans with it becoming seemingly "dehydrated" itself, looking dry. About a day or two after this I return to sleeping in boxers and the glans returns to it's normal texture, but the skin now has a grey tinge. This begins to peel, usually in phases. At the moment, the greyish skin is almost gone and it causes no physical discomfort, only the mental discomfort for both me and my girlfriend not knowing what's going on.

I am going to go see my doctor next week to ask about this, but I was wondering if anyone here could give me an idea of what they might think it is, just so none of it is a surprise. I've read online that it could just be dry skin or a yeast infection, but the way it occured I was thinking dry skin, but I'm not sure.

Any reply would be great. This is my first post as well so yay for bearing problems to strangers :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention, we've both had tests for various STDs about a month or two after we started going out just to be safe and everything came beack fine :)

my guess off-hand is that it's probably a weird symptom of simple dehydration.

having said that: 1) it's your cock, but if it were me i'd want that checked out anyway cuz i don't wanna take any risks at all, and 2) that's a lot of drinking, and if going to get a medical professional check it out isn't something that's in the cards, i'd suggest laying off the booze for a few days and seeing if there's a correlation there.

any other weird symptoms?

Yeah, I'm actually going for a liver test as well, just to make sure (I made that appointment just before this happened so I'm going to check up on both on the same day :) ) and I'm literally not going to drink any alcohol for the next 6 months to 1 year since it might also be contributing to a recent gain in weight despite daily excercise and attempts to eat sensibly.

No other weird symptoms at all, which is good methinks :)

Thanks for the reply Silverwhisper :D

Honestly, I think it could just be because of the unusual environment. If your dick isn't used to being exposed to the open air and everything, it will react to the new environment. The cotton boxers will, of course, absorb your body moisture and trap it.

In my wanking thread I described doing it for an hour or two with "CyberSkin Vibrating Stick Stroker" using Astroglide and other water-based lubes, and how I switched to mineral oil because the others "stopped working so good after 15 minutes or so."

That's not all: The day after one of those marathon sessions (yes girls, for boys an hour and more is a "marathon") a very thin layer of skin would start peeling from most of the surface of my shaft. Kind of like a bad sunburn. I thought it might be the lube, and changed brands, but no joy. I then thought it was the toy, which was sad because I like that thing. Around that time I tried the mineral oil, and voila - no more dick-flake. (Yeah, the oil does deteriorate the cyberskin after a while, but better the toy than my dick, right? Right.)

What that has to do with your situation I'm not sure. Probably nothing, but it's interesting (to me, anyway ).

In your case my advice would be, dude, don't drink so much! You need to think through how you use alcy to have fun, and come up with a better program that's sustainable for the long haul. I don't mean don't drink, but figure out a way to pace yourself so you can have fun without getting wasted all the time.

Ah, well there's the assumption isn't it. I was drinking till I got wasted and before that I hadn't had a drink in about 2 months even though I had gone out about 6 times in those 2 months. I was actually pacing myself, 1 drink ever hour (or hour and a half depending) I just react really really badly to cider lol :p I get really bad hangovers after just 3-4 pints no matter how long it is between drinks (that actually makes me a cider lightweight doesn't it?). I should have just stuck with vodka. I never get a hangover from that or have any bad reactions of any kind at all.

Good point, it does seem to go that way when I sleep naked too long, although never this far unless under these circumstances these two times.

Well, s'all gone now, after just 2 days. Still going for that liver test and to talk to the doctor about it though and not drinking for 6 months just to be nice to my liver, my body and my weight. Luckily everyone who was leaving is leaving (the reason for so many drinking sessions, so annoying, so sad) and all that's left is my wedding in 367 days so not drinking should be easy :D

Thanks for the help everybody :D

Maybe you should be sensible with the drinking - whatever's going on with your cock on the outside is happening to your organs on the inside....

engel: glad to help!

congratulations on your engagement, that's great! but if you think you're gonna get through wedding planning without another drink, i can only shake my head with a knowing smile, man. :D

Thanks, I'm pretty sure I can. I haven't had the urge to yet and we're about 8 months ahead of schedule for planning it :p We've reached the point in planning that we should have been at in April of next year HAHA XD

Ok, to sum up how much I drank that week, I did go a bit over board and drank 24 units in that week, which is 3 over the recommended weekly maximum limit. It should also be clarified this is not my worst drinking period and is actually above average for me. My average intake in a week where I do drink is about 12-15 units, but most weeks I don't drink at all. My worst drinking week began 2 days after my dad told me he had left my mum, which my mum confirmed. I drank 80 units in just 4 days. If I had continued for the entire week it would have reason to 140 units, a full 7 times to recommended weekly maximum intake. I stopped because I knew it was too much and was very self-destructive. I had a liver test 1 week and 2 weeks after this, and rather luckily my liver was fine. Since then I've barely touched any alcohol, despite the fact that I do still go out with friends to pubs, bars and clubs around 2-3 times a week. So "drinking sensibly" is something I do most of the time, especially since that 80-unit week, since I'm pretty sure that shows a dependency on alcohol in place of actually dealing with emotional problems, so I just don't touch alcohol that much except during a big farewell celebration, never at birthdays or simply going out.

that's fantastic--well done!

er...i was kinda joking about the drinking thing. i dunno about you, but i know my then-fiancee was really stressed out by the process. :>

Keep in mind that many doctors are completely ignorant about foreskins, and usually default to cutting it off. Take any advice from them with a large grain of salt, unless you have good reason to think they actually know something about foreskins.

Since it is temporary, and resolves itself on its own, and form your description sounds like the skin simply got dried out and then peeled off, I wouldn't worry about it.

And remember, the foreskin isn't the wrapper, it's the candy.

Best wishes

While hygiene is an obvious response to this kind of question, I'll also point out that food allergies can affect your most sensitive bits.

I have weird peely stuff on various parts of my body, and while alcohol definitely makes it worse, it turns out that a mild gluten allergy is the real cause. Any of the sensitive skin is affected by this - ears, nose, elbows and cock especially.

One thing I can recommend is Vitamin E oil - applied daily, it might help this sort of thing.

The worst about this stuff is that doctors aren't really very good at figuring it out. You have to treat your body as a science experiment to really find the causes in your case.

Sometimes the only thing to do is cut out meat, alcohol, caffeine, dairy, and grains, for two weeks, then add back slowly until you find out what the trigger is.

Oh, the summing up of the drinking wasn't aimed at you, just the people who constantly said "drink sensibly" over and over lol :p I'd say no alcohol and then a once-every-four-week 2-4 pints in rather sensible, especially in relation to 80 units in 4 days :p

Went to the doctor and they just said it's likely it was just dry for a bit too long and that it's pretty much fine now (as far as they could tell anyway), but since the symptoms and processes were almost identical both times round they said to avoid the exact same thing happening a third time and if a similar thing happens without one factor then it had nothing to do with that :)

Also said that from my last liver test the results of this one should come back perfectly fine, so YAY! :D
