Pending stories say: Not Ever Approved...why?

Okay, so I've submitted a story before and it was accepted. Last Monday (7 days ago), I tried to submit another but it was "pending" all week. I noticed it said NOT EVER APPROVED in section detailing when a story was accepted.

Someone told me to submit it again. So on Friday, I did, but with the same results. Then someone gave me the idea of creating a new member and submit the work again to see if that work. But I still get the "Not Ever Approved" label.

Can anyone help me with this? Why is this happening? Can I no longer submit? What can I do?

It isn't just you, Hammock. I've had a story waiting to be approved for over a week now. I'm just assuming that Laurel and Manu are busy. Frankly, it amazes me that they manage to read as much (bad) porn as they do. I'd give it a month before getting really concerned about it.

Oops. I never knew there were so few people reading and getting thing approved.

So, if that's the case, then I have the same story attempting to be approved three times.

What can I do about that?

Every story submitted to Lit has the status "not ever approved" until it has been read and approved for posting. The process normally takes about 5-8 days. I've read of longer times since the Halloween contest got underway, but have not experienced such.

I would do as Svenskaflicka suggests and PM Laurel.

Go to two of the three and click on the link under "Pending" and edit those two down to "Duplicate submission -- Ignore"

The "Not Ever Approved" means there is no date in the "date approved" field of the story index record. The progrmmer who wrote the scripts for this site is Russian and speaks very little English. I suspect the "not ever approved" is a poor translation of "Not yet approved" or "no date available."

The only part of the status line that matters is the status -- Pending, Approved, or Rejected. Pending and Approved have links under them -- "pending links" to the story edit function and "rejected" links to the rejection form letter.

You forgot one crucial one! It'll sometimes say "In Preview--Needs to be submitted" That means you have to open it up by clicking the in preview (It's a link) and press the submit button. If you don't, Laurel can't see it to read it.
