Pending Approval and Question

I haven't been to this site in, gosh, years. I only had 2 stories submitted, but recently submitted 2 more. I had problems picking the categories, but the guidelines said that the categories would be changed to fit better if needed.

Anyway, I think I submitted one last Tuesday or Wednesday, and the other the day after. I know one is almost 7000 words, so may take a while, but the other is around 750 I think. My question then, is how long does it normally take to go over and approve now adays? I remember my other two going right through and showing up within 72 hours. Is it because of the contests and/or traffic the site gets now? What should I expect for normal pending time? I am not complaining, I am genuinely curious, is no news good news?

Also, can I post my old stories on this board for review? They were submitted way before comments were added, so don't have any. They are also probably pretty buried being old submissions.

It normally takes 7 to 14 days for submissions to be accepted or rejected. You know when you see the view count on your submission page start climbing that it is in the process. Patience is a virtue when waiting.

Yes, you may post links to your old stories (and your new when accepted) on this board and someone (or several someones) will eventually review and comment.

Welcome back.

Certainly, link your stories here in this forum for people to take a look at, although when your new stories post you'll likely get new views (and possibly comments) on your older stories as well.

As to your question: It seems to be about a five-seven day turnaround for me, sometimes more, but never seen less, that's the low end average. The length of the story doesn't seem to make that much of a difference, although I'm sure the 750 one is easier to go through than the longer ones. Mine are around 7000-21000 words average.

There is a lot of server/php work going on at the moment I believe, so turnaround may be delayed a bit. It's been pushing over a week with all the contests and updating of the site lately.

It's about 6 to 8 for me, I'd guess. And I have recently been there. Definitely include a link to your stories, but switch it to your newest when you get a chance.
