I need to rant. I just started an online community. It was free. Free, till you exceed hit limit. For bringing in so much traffic, the host wants me to pay! We exceeded the month activity limit in 10 days.

I can't believe this. I'm really tech-challenged so finding a host that provided templates and minimal set-up assistance was great or so I thought. Now I can't even get hold of sales to pay for access until I decide what to do.

ARGGGG!!!!!!!

I'm really unsure of how to proceed.

Why don't you look into some advertising banners to offset your expense?

Activity numbers are commiserate with advertising fees!

Odd thing about capitalism is that once you begin to be successful someone wants a piece of the pie you baked. Keep at it.

The first thing I noticed today is that odd notice in your community. Please know there are others as frustrated as you are D. I am at least as tech challenged as you are so I have nothing constructive to offer in way of advice. Just an oh hell, and a voice to sing chorus to your rant.

Amazing what an angry woman can do

I called the provider and asked for fair terms. I stated I was dissatisfiied with their offer and that I'd be looking elsewhere. They contacted me this afternoon with better terms that I was willing to consider. We may be up this evening.

In the meantime, I got busy building an alterative site and am happy to tell all those who enjoyed Lotus Blooms that we have a home and a cabin, too. My sig line is now the link to our message board. For the poets who prefer a more traditional format, check this board out. Our home site will focus on discussion, featured artists, workshops and of course your work can be posted there too.
