Gunnar had been stationed over seas off an on for the last 15 years, during this time he had been writing a friend. Through the years they talked about everything from childhood, to being grown and exploring relationships. A few times they came close to being one themselves and if anyone else had read their letters they would be inclined to believe they were together. The day as come, Gunnar was finally coming home and he was extra excited because his pen pal was picking him up.

He watched out the window as the plane began to land at the airport right on schedule. He watched and smiled as thr flight attendants gave instruction on how to exit, Gunnar unbundled himself and stood grabbing his only luggage a dark green pack he swung over his shoulder. Making his way through the terminal and into the airport he stood taller than everyone else, Gunnar had a large muscular frame, not chiseled but he was strong. The beige tan under armor shirt clung to his massive pecs and upper arms. This being the first time in a while he wasn't in uniform he even tucked his Wrangler jeans into his boots. Making his way through crowd marching with a purpose hoping to meet this friend he has always known but never met besides a picture from 15 years ago.

I've parked and am waiting by the door.
Seeing you walking through the crowd, I hadn't realized how tall you actually were

I mean you'd told me and sent pictures, but seeing you in person

Hearing my name, my head snaps to the left. I see beautiful woman with her hand around her mouth like she just shouted. I run over, side stepping and maneuvering around a crowd of people.

I make my way to your car with a smile and feeling nervous, I reach out and offer my hand for yours "Hey, It's me Gunnar" my voice low and smokey my words spoken slow with a thick southern draw. I can't help but look you up and down and admire how you look.

"Hi Gunnar!!!! I'm glad it's you, would have been embarrassing shouting at some stranger"

Watching as you hold your hand out

"I think we know each other well enough a hug is in order"

When you are close to me you seem even taller. I just come up to your chest

I reach out hugging, scooping you up in my arms. I lift you up and hold you close, feeling your body close to mine I blush for a moment then set you down. My eyes lock with yours as I smile "you are right. I appreciate you coming to pick me up. Feels good to be back home"

I take my bag and carefully place it in the back of your car. I take a deep breath to calm my excitement and nervousness, breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. My chest slowly rising and falling. I sigh and then offer to drive for you and hold the door for you to enter the car. "I'd like to drive for you, let you be a passenger princess as a way of saying thanks"

Breathing faster from the hug. Been a long time since I was in a mans arms!!!!

"Not a problem, I'm just glad that you didn't have to cancel this trip!!!!"

I hand you the keys

"You're going to have move that seat way back, for your long legs to fit!!!!"

"Where are you taking me???"

"Thought I'd drive and you just tell me. You had mentioned a cabin in your letters, but I am also a bit hungry" I smile taking the keys and heading to the driver seat. As I sit I stay put and laugh with my knees bent and nearly to my chest. "Hahaha" then slide it back to where I fit.

I take off from the parking lot and drive somewhat fast but I miss grabbing the gear shift in the middle and my hand lands on your thigh. I realize then blush and move it back slowly to the gear shift.

"I have it almost all the way forward, and you have to have it all the way back!!!!"

"Ok Go out of here, take the freeway North. I know a good place for lunch"

I smile at you when your hand lands on my thigh

"Missed????"

We chat until about 10 miles out of town

"Take this exit here, then a right, it's called Charlies, but they have fantastic burgers"
"Beer too if you want one"

"The cabin is about an hour drive up into the mountains, if that's where you want to go"
"We'll have to stop for groceries, but i have the keys"

Following your directions, as we chat I get us to Charlie's. It looks fairly nice out front, on the roadside a bit truckers and bikers Parked near by. I circle the lot finding a place close to the door, I place the car in park. "Sorry my mind is still on needing a quick exit." I try to explain my behavior a bit so it seems less weird.



I look at you for a moment and smile, the sun light shining through the window but a sparkle in my greenish blue eyes. I step out and come around to let you out but before I can open your door a group people step out and walk near the car so I hold it shut til they pass and enter their own vehicle. Once they leave I let you out and offer my arm to escort you inside.

"That's probably a good thing then, don't lose that habit!!!"

Taking your hand as you help me out of the car, and I continue holding it as we walk into the diner

"Doesn't look like much, but I love their mushroom swiss burger!!!!"

We find a boot and the waitress comes over, checking you out as she does

'Can I help you folks?'

My eyes on the menu I scan for a moment and look back up at you, watching you look over the menu. I begin to go back in time mentally, remembering letters that I read from you. Unknowingly a grin curls on my face and I give a small content and happy sigh as my eyes just look at you for a moment.

When the waitress first arrived I had noticed til she spoke, then I snap back to reality for a moment. I turn and look at the waitress "sorry I need a second but I believe the lady is ready. Think she will have one of your mushroom Swiss burgers." I scan and find a nice BBQ bacon burger. Then scan for the drinks.

"Sorry. Shit I ordered for you. That was rude of me." I apologize as I gather my own order and tell the waitress "Yeah I'll take the BBQ bacon burger with beer cheese and a water" giving my order I hand over the menu.

I watch as you take over the ordering of the food.
Not something I usually allow, but will let it slide this time.

"Telling the waitress, I'll have a draft beer please, one of the local breweries"

"It's ok, just uhmmm don't make a habit of it ok?"

I look in your eyes, both of us sitting waiting for the food to arrive
she comes back with our drinks and a flirtatious smile for you.

"I think she likes you!!!"

"How long are you going to be in town for???"

As the waitress flirts I really don't notice, I look up at the waitress and just simply respond with "thanks..." then I realized she asked me a question. I blush from embarrassment of not hearing the question at first. "I'm sorry I uhh.. not sure but I am finally done over seas. Feels good to be back state side."

I go to look at you and grin and not give the waitress hardly any attention. I cock an eyebrow like the waitress is being weird, then pat my pockets. I nearly forgot but I pull out this tiny sapphire gem "I found this while I was over there shortly after we started writing each other. Held on to it til I could give it to you now" I reach over and place it in your hand.

I accept your kiss and put an arm around you as I blush a bit. Your happiness for my gift fills me with happiness as well and a since of accomplishment. The smile on my face feels like it is becoming permanent.
"It truly was no big deal. It was something that made me think of you, and I thought you'd like it so I saved it."

I chuckle as you mention a necklace or possibly a ring. My laughter loud echoes through the diner, the waitress looks our way as does a few people near by. "Sorry everyone" I giggle a bit and reach to pull you to my lap. I stop and think how amazing and easy things seem with you, it feels as if we had always been friends in person. We are clicking in ways I hadn't dreamed possible.

My free hand reaches and pulls your drink over and then I take a sip of my own, sucking on the straw firmly as if I'm dying of thrist. Lost in the moment mentally as our bodies are close, I can't help but day dream of you and I intimately and that's cause a slight chub that twitches and can be felt. The day dream doesn't last long as the sound of heel claking against tiles pulls me free. The waitress drops our burgers off and leaves.

I give you another kiss on the cheek and slide back to my seat

"I think she hates me right now, she wanted to be one in your lap"

"She is cute...."

Watching you blush when I say that.

Eating on my burger I hardly take time to chew, again another bad habit from being in the military. I stop, breath and smile "it's really good I am sorry." I laugh a little at my piggish behavior. "I normally don't have time to eat"

As you mention the waitress, I just shake my head and hanging it low. I swallow another bite of my burger a bit hard and cough a little. I look across the table at you "She is no you." I take drink of my water and then move it to the edge for the waitress to come back to refill it.

"Is your burger good? What did you mean by she wished she was in my lap?"

I'm amazed at how quickly you eat that burger
"Do you want another one????"
"You will need to learn how to slow done"

eating more of mine and sipping my beer

"I think you mean she is not you"
"No she isn't me, but she is pretty"

taking a pause

"I'm not one of those women who gets mad if the man they are with notices a pretty woman"
"I don't trust men like that. If you see a pretty lady, then you can look, odds are I noticed her before you did"

"What I meant by saying she wishes she was in your lap is exactly that"
"I was in your lap when she brought the burgers"
"But I could tell that she wishes it was her"
"No idea what her story is, she could be happily married"
"But you are a good looking man"

"Do this order a 2nd burger, but this time Look at her. Look in her eyes and remember to thank her"
"Her name is Kim by the way"

I sigh "I am good on another burger." I pause and look over and do see the waitress looking at me really hard. I reach across the table and grab your hand. My eyes lock with yours, I take in a deep shaky breath.

"I didn't just come back up and want to hang out with you. I have the intention to court you possibly." I take another breath. My heart racing and pounding in my chest. I use my other hand to grab some fries and eat a couple.

The waitress notices my cup and comes over. I don't want to break eye contact with you but I do for a moment at your request. I turn my head and address her "thanks for the refill kim"

That wasn't how I wanted it to happen but at least he made eye contact with her, and thanked her

"Was that so terribly difficult??"

"I haven't heard the word court anywhere but a romance novel or very old movie"

"I guess we really haven't talked about this week at my cabin"

"I know we talked a lot in the emails, but face to face"

"For me it's to get to know you in person, see if we click in real life like we did online"

"But curious, what do you really want to happen?"

I grin looking at you. "No it wasn't difficult at all, just didn't want to seem flirty."

I listen and watch you as you talk and nod being an active listener. " a bit old fashion at times not completely. Felt like a nice way to say I notice a connection in our emails and wanted to explore them in person as well."

I pause thinking on what I would like to see while at the cabin "you know we kind of click already but to have alone time and get Inside each other's heads with fun and conversation."

"Flirty is ok a small amount. You didn't hit on her, which I think she appreciated, but a woman likes to know that someone finds her attractive, you were obviously with me, she wasn't going to steal you, well probably not"

Listening to what you're expecting.

"Yes the time to get to know each other is why were coming out here, probably the only 2 people for miles around"
"Just so you know, the cabin has 2 bedrooms, one for you one for me"
"This is not a hookup week, for us it may or may not happen we have to play that by ear"

"I came up last weekend and stocked the fridge, plus we're on a lake so can go fishing"
"Also some alcohol wine, beer hard liquor if you drink, I do "
Also of course fresh water, milk and juices

"A lake you say?" I ask with a big grin "been awhile since I went fishing or even swimming" I nod with everything else. I get my refill of water and drink it as I finish my fries. I kindly motion for the waitress Kim to come over and I pull my wallet out and pay for our meal and leave a generous tip.

"You were great Kim, thank you. Food was delicious" with that said I stand and offer a hand to you. Ready to guide and lead you back out to the car.

"OH? I almost forgot I do drink a little just not when I am driving. So as long as we are staying at the cabin and not going to drive ill drink with you"

As we walk out, I whisper something to Kim, she blushes but nods.

"Ok, I hate to be the only one drinking!!! and it never really came up in our emails"

"Do you want me to drive for a while or are you still good to go"

"I'll drive, you be a passenger princess and just navigate a bit" I grin holding door open for you to exit the diner. I look to Kim and notice she is blushing, then follow you to car. I quickly race you there and open that for you as well. "Woah hold up I got the door" I chuckle.

Once you are in a secure, I walk around the car and get in myself. Pulling out I look at you "which way again?" I let a hand rest on your knee, giving small tickling squeezes.
