I know this has been brought up before somewhere, but since the search function won't accept a search for pen name, I thought I'd ask here.

If you are submitting something and you wish to use a pen name, how do you do that?

I presume you have to create another account for that pen name, then log in under that name and submit it that way.

That's the only way that I can think it would work.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough. I didn't mean for this site. I meant to be published... either in print or ebook format.

Not sure this is what you mean, but the few times I tried, I wrote in my submission mail that I would like to use a pen name.

If your are submitting anything on lit, you need to credit an account for it.

To a publisher, you just tell them in a letter or they will ask you. Most of the time they will ask "What name do you wish to have on your writing"

If you have an agent it's easier. Mine knows my pen name, so promotes that instead of my real name.

Ravin the Poet
^^my pen name

I suggest taking a good long time to decide. Because something that has your real name on it can easily be changed and be known. For example if a piece of work with Andrew Brethauer (me) is out there, and Ravin the Poet is known as that, it's ok. But say my pen name is Celic, and I decided to change it, it would confuse the general public.

Pen name should reflect you and your writing.

Have FUN!!!
