Pegging in MF cishet story

I'm putting the finishing touches on a story and I have a couple of issues around mechanics and expectations.
The story is long (31000 words) and involves a forty-something woman and a thirty-two year old man. Both main characters are resolutely heterosexual and the story is their meeting and growing involvement. It has an ending and can be stand-alone but is open enough for a sequel.
But.
One thing they eventually find they both like is for the woman to use a strap-on to peg the man. The first time it explicitly happens is just past the halfway point. Prior to the actual act there is foreshadowing but it's not like on the night they meet the woman says "in two months I'm ramming plastic up your butt." She builds things up and proposes it and he's into it. Making a warning explicit as part of the story wouldn't fit.
QUESTION: I *will* put 'pegging' as a Tag, but I know those don't show if someone finds the story via category, or new story, or some other tag (and there will be plenty). I know that many otherwise open-minded readers find pegging an absolute no go (like water sports, etc.) But there are zero homosexual encounters of any sort and the story is not pure anal.
- Should I put a note at the top (after the copyright statement) describing or alluding to this? What have other authors done in a case like this? (Other items like water sports, scat, seem similar where many readers might react badly.)

In part I'm confused about CATEGORY too.
- I've thought about MATURE, but the age difference is only 11 years and for broader plot reasons I don't want it larger. Most MATURE I've seen here are more "MILF & College Guys" or even older person 'training' younger or both are mature. There is some of the woman training her younger lover here but it's a minor plot point.
- Due to length I've thought 'NOVEL and NOVELLAS'.
- I could do FETISH, but the story does not revolve around pegging, it's just one of many sex acts they enjoy. And other than this, there aren't really fetish items or acts.
- Otherwise, it has some anal, some EC, some Romance (but it violates too many Romance tropes), all the sex is consensual and no incest. No affairs. All that knocks out many categories.

Suggestions welcome. Thanks!

You've pretty much pegged it. ( Pun intended ) There's no really good category for it. The majority of people who don't like gay male sex considering pegging to be no better. The hate will flow freely.

My best guess would be E.C. with a warning at the beginning. That category is enough of a grab-bag with a transient readership that it doesn't have any sort of expectations, beyond 1 on 1 sex.

If there's any group activity, the length is sufficient to go with N & N. It probably won't get as many reads, but any group stuff more or less disqualifies it from E.C. N & N has the same grab-bag readership, but there are fewer of them.

Without a dominant theme that fits a more specific category, your options are limited. Including something as polarizing as pegging limits you even further. Think you'll have to accept the limited audience ( and possible nasty commentary/score hits ) in exchange for telling the story you want to tell.

Like you said, you could have an author’s comment noting experimenting and such without being specific to alert the reader that it won’t just be lights out under the covers missionary. That way they’ll be expecting some bit of kink and will likely be more accepting of what comes up.

First, I'd say, "some" disapproving readers be damned, I suggest writing the story the way you want it to be. EC is a catchall category, which might be the best choice for it. I could see it in Mature, as well, as the cougar aspect with a ten-year spread is enough for me to see it there. Novels and Novellas would be OK (Its of novella length). It would rate OK but not get the readers it would elsewhere. You're going to get a bit of downvoting anywhere you put it, but you'll get readers interested in edgy and "something different," and you'll get the satisfaction of not being controlled by the view that readers have to have pabulum or they'll complain.

I was thinking Erotic Couplings as I was reading your post. In regard to the warnings. I have taken to including the tags I've used in the introduction so they can all be seen by the reader. I have also used an introduction as a soap box to provide a bit of education on some aspect human sexuality on occasion. Due to the minor place pegging has in this one, that may be overkill though. In this situation, seems like the use of visible tags in the intro would give fair warning, but may turn away some readership.

In general, I like introductions because they offer me a way to give an idea of the story so folks can make a more informed decision.

Edit to add; One final option may to include a short conversation in the story itself where the couple discuss pegging and how so many hetero couples are finding it is another perfectly valid sexual experience for both male and female, etc.

My suggestion would be putting it in Fetish, even heavily telegraphing the pegging in the actual story. It's the trump category in your mix.

I wrote about pegging as a side scene in a short story that I placed in Exhibition and Voyeurism (https://www.literotica.com/s/learning-control-at-work). That was the proper category for the story, and nobody commented on the pegging per se positively or negatively! It doesn't have a high score but heck I'm probably a crappy writer :).

That said, I agree with the idea of putting tags in the introduction. I usually read Lit on the Android app, and the tags are completely invisible there, as are the comments. I'm only now learning to write a bit of an introduction, and I find that when an author gives me a heads-up, that author is usually considerate and worth reading.

Novels and Novellas, I'd vote for, with an introduction.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. As I was doing my final read-through I realized that although there is only one explicit pegging scene, it happens offstage a fair amount in the second half and also drives some events in a minor way.

Thus, I chose to submit in 'Fetish' with a note on the submission summarizing this thread and a request that if the reviewer chooses differently I would understand. I also added the tags list in the intro and included a one liner about certain portrayed acts possibly making folks uncomfortable.

We'll see. Thank you all again!
