When I get up in the morning I always have to pee real bad. Instead of sitting on the toilet and peeing I jump in the hot shower and I pee. I have lived with others that do the same thing and I have lived with others that think this is disgusting.

Do you pee in the shower?

Is this acceptable or disgusting?

What do you think?

Depends on if someone is in the shower with you or not.

Sure... I pee in the shower if I'm alone. I don't see a compelling reason why not. I mean... I live in the south and if anyone is going to argue the "clenliness" aspect...then I callenge them to find how the mildew that grows in my shower on a daily basis (regardless of cleaning efforts) is any more clean than my relatively sterile urine.

But I wouldn't pee if someone else was in the shower with me. I'd probably be too busy doing something else.

Yep, all about the instant clean-up of peeing in the shower. Of course, its MY shower, I know its clean since I do it myself, and I don't do it when other people are there with me. I don't see why not to, and I honestly have never really understood why it would be disgusting to other people. I have soap, it goes down the drain. Of course, I've never understood why some people are disgusted by sharing a soda or a toothbrush with someone they kiss either. To each their own, I suppose :)

I purposely did not express my opinion about the cleanliness issue or peeing with someone else in the shower, but you have said it all for me. Although, there have been times when is was not just practical but fun to pee WITH someone else in my shower.

Penny:)

It all goes the same place -- the pipes join up in the floor -- and the shower can flush longer than the cistern.

Yes, I pee in the shower. I usually rub my urine on my thighs, too, as it's a natural moisturizer. Granted, it's washed off with soap, but I've found that it helps in the dry winters.

Everyone pees in the shower in the morning, pretty much. It's just not something one normally talks about is all.

Oh, the relief...

I've found anytime I'm about to get into the shower and notice I have to pee, that it's easy enough to wait. Saves toilet paper, time, and effort. Plus it's one of the few times I can actually pee standing up!

Urine has many healing qualities, ironically enough. A cousin of mine has a rare disorder that makes his skin grow at a rate close to 10,000 times faster than other people's. (Or is it 100,000?) As a result, his skin has a hard time sloughing off and he gets what I used to call 'traffic jams' of skin all over his body, especially his knuckles. When he was a baby, the only part of his body that was perfectly clear was the part that was covered by his diaper. Turns out urea (is that the correct term?) is a key part of the formulas used to treat this condition.

Urine can also hold certain kinds of athlete's foot at bay, which is odd but incredibly true (yes, a doctor actually TOLD both of us to do it, as we have two different types) so one more reason to do it.

So in short (I know, it's already long) there is nothing wrong with peeing in the shower, and many benefits.

Oh yeah --

And apparently not everyone pees in the shower -- I actually had a roommate once who was TERRIFIED of any bodily function happening in the shower, up to and including peeing or sneezing.

Then again, she was crazy.

I've never seen any problem with it. As others said, the pipes go the same place, so why waste water?

Sure I do, can't think of any reason not to. It is all going to the same place - down the drain - and you are getting yourself clean so if any gets on you it is being washed away. Probably much cleaner then wiping with toilet paper.

Yup. I pee in the shower. If I'm showering and I gotta go, I'm not stepping out and getting everything wet just to piss.

I don't get it: My wife disapproves of peeing in the shower. If she's around, I'll try to avoid offending her (I do love her afterall), but there's only so far I'll take that, too!

I never realized so many people did this. I have not peed in the shower since I was 9 or younger.

To me I've really never seen the point, the toilet is 2 feet to the left and rather it is clean or not urine has an unpleasant smell and if it isn't all washed down the drain your bathroom will stink :)

To each their own but I would be severely disgusted if I were in the shower with someone and they decided to pee or if If someone used my shower for a toilet.

At this point I seem to be the only male that has voted no, interesting :)

How about when you are traveling, a female alone, somewhere that has sinks in your room and a public toilet down the hall? In the middle of the night do you get up and go down the hall or just pee in the sink?

I have never been in a position to have to pee in a sink. I will have to try it sometime. I am not sure that I can aim that high but I guess I could just get up on the sink and sit on it. Wouldn't the porcelain be very cold on your butt when your butt is nice and warm from being in bed?

I find all the many answers interesting. It seems that most people either find peeing in the shower a normal thing or a very disgusting act. There don't seem to be any middle of the road opinions.

Penny:)

Many past GFs did that and I could never get used to it. I just don't like the idea of having to wash the tub everytime I want to take a bath. Seems I am outnumbered here though....... Please don't pee in my shower......

I have, but it is not something that I do all the time. I thought most people did this, at least on occasion. Then again, I don't take baths, so I really don't see anything wrong with it. As far as smell goes, urine really only has a distinct odor if one has not been drinking enough water. The same with color, actually. I drink lots of water daily, and my urine is almost clear and has no smell at all.

As far as peeing in a sink? Yeah, I've done that before as well. Learned it from a roommate I had once. We used to only have one bathroom, and there were times when we would come in from a night out drinking and really have to go pee. Once, when I got to the toilet first, she pulled down her pants, hopped up onto the sink and let go. Don't know that I would do it unless the situation were extreme.

Peeing in the shower (or the sink)

Penny,

Yes, I pee in the shower but only when I am taking a shower. It is much easier to pee in the shower, when you are taking a shower, than to get out of the shower and drip water all over the floor just to pee in the toilet.

I never thought there was a sanitary problem with peeing in the shower. After I pee I shower and all the soap from showering washes across the shower floor and down the drain. I would think that the soap would pretty well wash away most if not all of the bacteria from my pee. I would also think that there is probably more bacteria growing on my shower floor from other contaminants that I wash from my body, including the remnants of feces, that would contaminate it just as bad.

I would think that there are more germs and bacteria growing on your bath towel or wash cloth, if you are one that uses them for more than one shower or bath, than there are on the shower floor from peeing in the shower.

As far as peeing in a sink, I do that but only in the laundry tubs in the basement. There are times when I am working in the garage or in my workshop in the basement and I am so dirty that I don't want to take off my greasy or saw dust covered clothes and go upstairs to pee. It is just much easier to pee in the laundry tubs. The laundry tub is just high enough for me to pull it out and to drape it over the top edge of the laundry tub.

I thought everyone peed in the shower, I don't see anything wrong with it at all. As for the sink...lol, not since I was a young girl. Between the ages of 5 and 7 I found a strange pleasure in hopping up onto the couner, setting over the sink and letting go...of course, (confession, noone but my parents and myself knew about this till now) I am the same girl who would take my pants off, lie down on the floor with my bottom half of my body uner my bed and pee. To this day I still have no idea what that was about. Hmmm.........

I have peed in the shower, but usually only if I forgot before getting in... though I do find it somewhat erotic to be able to let go completely and not worry about mess etc :D

Yup, count me as a Yes I Do! Don't always have a choice though. You mix "gotta go anyway" plus hot water...your body all but makes you go!!!

Penny, good to see you again!
