That is the question.
I've noticed on some of the Valentines contest entries people have public comments turned off.
Just wondering if it makes a difference to your overall feedback level to have them on or off.

I believe turning them off makes you ineligible for the contest.

I don't know it if makes an impact or not. I know I still send a comment to the reader through lit, if they have that option available.

I don't think so. Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but turning off VOTING makes a story ineligible for a seasonal contest. However, it is not necessary to have comments turned on.

Reading the rules, I see nothing about comments needing to be on to make an entry valid.

I'd just like to know if people get more feedback anonymously with PCs on or off.
I get bugger all of anything, except on my first valentine entry, which has 23 comments, and had quite a few emails (don't know how many, they were on my old computer)

You are right, and I am wrong. My mistake, thanks. ~ Red. :rose:

It does effect the volume of feedback a story receives if you don't have PC turned on. I have a few stories from "before PC" time that don't have it on and get rare comments emailed to me. Those of which have been very positive and detailed. Maybe it effects the quality PCs as in readers have to pursue the author to privately leave negative or positive feedback instead of for of ones in PC that are essentially for the author AND other readers.

You can turn PCs on for your older stories. I have.

It has produced one or two PCs and hasn't deterred feedback by email.
