Pb& J

Ok it is Saturday night Im home and on Lit...in other words I have no life tonight...so I made myself the ever classic gourmet PB & J for dinner...and I got to wondering how does everyone else like their PB & J's so...my first poll

Also do you prefer Crunchy or smooth Peanut Butter?

Edited to say...My ideal is Crunchy PB with my dads homemade Raspberry preserves a little bit of fluff on oatmeal bread.

That would have been better than the tuna fish w/pickles sandwhich I just had, but I can't trust myself to have fluff in the house.

I took the obigitory other.

I LOVE peanut butter. Smooth or crunchy. But I do have some peculiar tastes. If we're talking plain 'ole PB&J, then it better be grape jam.

However, bannana's and mayo are up there and I love PB with mustard on toast. The mustard on toast thing is kinda like Chinese sweet and sour. Texture and opposite tastes to the pallete.

Damn, this thread made me hungry...

Well,

You first start with two slices of wheat bread, toast it medium brown...

Then apply the peanut butter (smooth only please) on the selected bottom half--PB ALWAYS goes on the bottom...

Stawberry or apricot preserves on top for me... grape jam is good also...

Carefully place the TOP onto the BOTTOM and squeeze so that a little preserves squirt out the sides and onto your fingers...*lick*

A glass of milk on the side... and a banana, eaten separately...

Mmmmm... GOOD!

Some kind of marshmallow goo in a jar. I've only used it in Rice Krispy treats and fudge. Never had it with peanut butter. In fact, I didn't even know they made flavors until I went to find a picture for you.

Gotta be creamy. Crunchy peanut butter gets stuck to my teeth.

I like all those options, but I prefer good ol' PB&J. There's no problem in life a peanut butter-and-jelly sandwich can't at least help with.

You want instant cavities? Try combining all of those: peanut butter, jelly, fluff, bananas, and maybe top it off with some honey. Yum yum.

But I'm not having PB & pickles or PB & onions. Yeech.

Crunchy PB and strawberry jam on whole wheat is the way I do it now. I can;t get my favorite any more. Does anybody know where I can find Kraft Pure Pineapple Preserves?

Thanks to an illness several years ago, I'm now allergic to peanuts (and contracted asthma), but while growing up I loved Jif Creamy peanut butter with grape jam (easier to spread than jelly) on thin-sliced white bread cut in triangles, or peanut butter and honey on toast. I still crave it now and then, but even things with a trace of peanuts in it causes an asthma attack now, so I do without. Roasted cashews are a good substitute for peanuts, but nothing comes close to peanut butter
