ty tankcommander for sharing your AV.

If you see an image that someone might wanna use as an AV for pre/post 9/11 link 'em or throw 'em in here if you don't mind.

Free US Graphics has 11 pages of graphics donated by people all over the world in memory of the victims of 9/11, a number of which would make really great av's (though some would need a little editing).

All the images are free for use, but the site owners ask that you please do NOT link directly to their graphics!

Just download the graphic you want, then upload it to lit for an av, or to your own web page if you want to link to it in your signature (or, you can be sneaky and upload it as 'your picture' to your main profile in lit, and then link to that in your sig ;)) .

Heavy Stick....

Tanks! 911 has a special place in my heart and life!
And who knows what the future holds with all that's going on!
I may be called upon again to protect our way of freedom, and I'll go with out reservation!

Tanks again!

9/11 anniversery coming up is already bringing tears to my eyes. I may have to go find a special AV for that day.

I think an Elmer Fudd with his boot on OBL would be nice

This image is after 911...

The little girl in the photo is crying and she represented me.

I felt that I was in the corner loosing my religion, but then she reaffermed everything I believe in.

I took this picture while visiting in New York in April 2002.

After 1820 patriotism lost its appeal with me. I might go with a rotation of Tecumseh, Voltaire, John Marshall, Aaron Burr and Gouverneur Morris as an AV but that's as close as I can get to promoting.

here's another site if you can't find any on the one that Crysede posted.

more patriotic images

I live in Newark and I remember seeing it happen. I remember the Towers falling, one and the again 45 min later. My office windows face NYC. I remember being called by the Red Cross to help with the grief counseling near Ground Zero. I remember hearing about the Pentagon being attacked. I remember hearing about Flight 93. I remember seeing what was left. I remember the frightened and empty faces of the ones left behind, looking for their loved ones. I remember the quiet.

I remember.

I found my av (the Statue of Liberty at sunset) on a free picture website. Unfortunately, I shrank it for av usage, and forgot to keep a full-size copy of the original, nor the webpage where I found it.

The U.S. ribbon is also free. I don't know where that came from, either, but I got it from someone else who got it from someone else . . .

That's a great AV, though I'm ashamed to say that I wouldn't have known what it was on first glance... sorry!

I think we all should get an AV that describes how we feel about all of this, just to show that we indeed care

Don't feel too bad. I'm sure I wouldn't have known what it was straight off, except for the fact that I typed in "statue of liberty" as my search parameter.
