As some of you know, I try DESPERATELY to be patient with everyone. My ex-gf once said, "A sec. spent mad is a sec. wasted." Although, with Christmas in retail, because I get SO stressed out, I've become a bit more uptight. Anyway, are you patient, or impatient?

Sorry to hear that you're stressed, Nasty.

I am the Queen of Instant Gratification, meaning that I am highly impatient. When I want something, I want it now! When I ask someone to do something, I expect them to do it ASAP. When I do something, I expect instant results. Not a very good thing...

Impatient seems to rule over me.
There are times where I try so very hard to be patient but then that evil monster called " Impatiento'".. seems to emerge and I need to have things in the NOW !! :p

Minxy I'm the same way

Like right now.. I'm super stressed about Xmas day.. I have 8 kids.. 1 disabled mother and a car that seats.. 5 people. I have to go across town to the in-laws for xmas day dinner and that "family thing" (we all love  ). Husband has to work, and I want to know NOW how this is all going to work out. It's not that big of a deal.. they only live 6 or so blocks away.. it's not like I can't make 2 trips.. or someone from over there can come pick some of them up.. But dammit.. I need to know NOW what is going to go on. I've been a complete and utter bitch for the last three days about it.

I can't control how I feel sometimes.. I know it's not a big deal.. I know not to stress about it.. but I still do it. I guess I'm crazy :D

well if you're the queen i must be the princess ;)
the thing about me is, even though i want things NOW, i usually have to wait... and wait... and wait. not that i'm gracious about it, but i do wait when i have to :)

No concept.......

of what patience even is. I try really hard but most often I fail miserably. But I'm still trying.

Nasty, sorry you are having a rough time of it. Hope it gets better.

I try to be patient with everyone else. However, I'm terribly impatient with myself. Weird, huh?:)

Ok. Let me make this question clearer. I'm not talking about, I want it, NOW!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, do you have patience for other people? Ex.-If you're waiting in line at the Curtosy Desk at Walmart, because someone just doesn't get what the employee is trying to say? That happened at Wally today. The associate must have been explaining SOMETHING to this lady for about 10 minutes. She just didn't get it.

I tell you, the holidays can bring out the best and worst in people.
I used to work retail (years ago) during the holidays for extra money....most stressful job I ever had! I worked in the customer service part, aka "complaint department!" I would go home tense everynight. Must be why, as much as I love buying gifts for everyone...I hate fighting the crowds in the stores.

Anyway, to answer the question, I try hard to be patient. Having a kid I have had to learn patience. What would you call someone in between patient and impatient? Because that's what I would be!

Well, working with special ed kids, I have to exercise my will and have as much patience as possible with them. I have patience when it comes to them, but not when it comes to the jerk in the checkout line who is arguing over 5 cents or who waits until the last minute to get their money ready. I also hate when people just don't get it- ugh.

How many days till Christmas is over? Seriously, as much as this time of year is HOLY HELL in retail, it makes the time FLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think im patient ... i've never got angry at a customer so far ... after all im getting paid for my time ... they arent for theres ... also i think theres nothing better then making a customer happy kind of lifts you through the day especially when its busy

i enjoy working at this time of year i like it being busy the only thing i dont enjoy is that i never get two days off in a row anymore

Internally, I do not suffer fools gladly. Or patiently.

Externally, I smile and look as if I do.

I actually like this time of year, also,(because of the above statement.) Although, when I get home, I LOVE having piece and quiet.

I hear you on this one.
Why the fuck are some people so fucking stupid? I could never figure it out...of course I was always amazed that they were able to drive themselves there without killing someone.
I have quite a bit of patience, comes in handy a lot of the time.

If I'm around a slow learner, I jst keep silently repeating, "Some people are just stupid," over, and over. Today, a person returned a packages of colored lights, because, she thought they were ALL white. The funny thing is, there's a picture of the colored lights ON the package. Another thing that gets me, is, when I listen to a request show on the radio, people will call up, and asked, "Can I make a request?" Well, DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh lordy girl. You need to come over to this side of the pond. New York specifically.

:D 'Round these parts, customers have been known to assault you for just working somewhere that irked them.

You should work upfront at Walmart. Youi get LOTS of complaints. I ALWAYS get, "Why aren't these doors automatic?" I always say, "THey should be." Secretly thinking, "What the hell do you want me to do about it?" DEAL WITH IT, ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm pretty patient when face to face with people. I don't like to make people feel bad, or inadequate, so I've gotten really good at biting my tongue and screaming inside my head.

When you consider that I'm not only witch in a family of baptists, lutherans, and pentecostals, but also a mother of two children under the age of 5, I do a lot A LOT of internal screaming. :)

Me too. God, at least I'm not back in Stationary. "Mom, buy me this. "No." "WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH" DROVE ME INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!
