Since it's almost Passover, I thought I'd encourage those of you who might be curious but a little nervous about hot wax/candle play to go out and pick up some Passover Candles. Right after the holiday, they'll go on big-time sale. (Here, you can pick them up at the supermarket for 50 cents.)

For Kosher reasons, they're made of pure paraffin wax, which melts at the lowest temperature of all major types of candles. Plus, they come in little glass containers, which keeps them pretty neat when they melt, so you can let them melt down quite a bit before using that wax for sensation purposes. It also cools quickly, so it's easy to remove and start over. We've been having quite a bit of fun playing with ours, although for my tastes, wax that holds its heat a little longer is more fun.

Just a thought...

Excellent idea, R!

I saw a whole display of them in my local Target the other day and am going back on Saturday, when they should be going on sale, to snag some of them.

Thanks, darlin', for the reminder.

Interesting

oh
I have no one to use it on

See, now I', thinking...if I get a rather large pot, and melt about 2 gallons worth of candles, and buy a metal ladle...anyone up for a full-body waxing?

And I was wondering what the hell Passover and fireplay could have in common, now I know.

Baruch Atah I'm gonna burn, your nipples now, Ammmmmmen!

:D

Do we have to say Amen EVERY time we burn the nipples? Or just after the first time? :D

According to the Haggadah, just the first time, but I think that doing it each time adds a nice ritualistic feeling to the act :D

Next thing you know, Risia will be describing applying moror to the labia to remember the pain and suffering on the exodus from Egypt! :D

Ahhh rituals, very important, gotcha ;)

Isn't the paddle for remembering the pain and suffering? :DI have no idea what moror is, is it painful?

Rrred!

Let's go play with some nice Novena candles, little altar boy.

(Netzach, learning limits she never knew she had....)

Gee, I'm going to Seder with Dracontias' family (the token Goyim LOL)

I wonder if they'll notice me lifting the candles afterwards?

my boyfriend is jewish... and i'm commin' home for easter...
*feels the corners of her mouth raise in a shy seductive smile*

Highlights of Passover

That sounds like it would be a heart-warming (and warming other parts as well) experience. How wonderful!!

i think that we'll need a few practice sessions before we film the commercial. Think it'll run during prime time?

Or, take it even further... this arrived in my mailbox recently.

Leather Seder Saturday April 19

Passover is coming, a time when Jews all over the
world celebrate together the fact that we are no
longer slaves. Except for kinky Jews, who celebrate
that we *can* be slaves -- if we want to. Leather
Shabbat SF is proud to be hosting our first Leather
Seder. We'll gather for a potluck dinner and tell the
story of the Exodus using the beautiful hagadah
"Avadim Chayenu -- Once We Were Slaves", written in
part by Laura Antoniou, author of the Marketplace
books. This joyous, fun, and friendly event will be
held the evening of Saturday, April 19, 2003, in San
Francisco.

*GASP* Leather Shabbat??? I'm near SF!! Tell me more!!!!!!

I don't have anymore info on it (it was just one item on an events list - a leather dyke newsletter, though the event may be pansexual). I can PM the e-mail address that was included with the event description if you like though. :)

I went to the grocery store today. Browsed the Passover section. Huge stack of candles, 59 cents a piece. I bought several. I shall tuck them away for later use. Amazing what you learn here on Lit. *grin*
