I don't know if anyone has posted this same comment or not. I can't spend time reading through a gazillion parts or chapters of any story, no matter how good it is.

If a story continues past three parts I lose interest. There are some good authors here, but if their work is crafted well enough to merit more than a few installments, they should seek an erotic publisher and go pro.

I would like to know if anybody else feels the same way.

If a story's successful, an author often gets requests for follow-ups. Readers like the characters, or they like the situation, or something.

I know what you mean though. My heart sinks when I scroll down to the bottom of any story and see either that it's like 10 Lit pages long, or that it's part 205 out of 497. I've done novellas myself, but I always try and do them as serial novels, where each chapter can be read as a stand-along story,so you don't have to read all 204 chapters to understand what's going on in chapter 205. (Well, actually my longest was only 11 chapters.)

That way, the ones who want to see the story continue get what they want, and those who just want to drop in for a quick peek get what they want too.

I also seldom read multi-parters, and I get the impression some of them, ah, drift a little. The story title is something like 'One Night with My Brother' but the description for chapter 37 is 'The three Norwegian circus midgets continue their Eiffel Tower romp'.

LOL

I admit I am guilty of the crime - instalments of course, not the midgets.:D But my biggest crime is not writing instalments fast enough - which is extremely annoying to people who do read multi-parters. Probably another reason not to read them, but I do recommend mine ;)
