Paris Olympics

Arsonists attacked France’s high-speed rail network early Friday, setting fires that paralyzed train travel to Paris for some 800,000 people across Europe, including athletes heading to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Let the games begin. :)

First scandal of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games:
Canadian women's soccer coach caught flying a drone with an Apple GoPro over the field where her next opponents were playing.

She was taping their formations/plays. Officials assume anything hovering over an event is a bomb.

I think the opening day of the Olympics should be a worldwide holiday.

Celebrate the remarkable gathering.

I literally saw like the last minute of last night's telecast. I'm sure it was amazing and will look for some highlights on YouTube.

I’m waiting for the usual suspects to talk about all of the inclusion that was in the ceremony.

Except, you know who wasn’t included… Vlady. Seems his overt aggression is a problem. “This is where Russian would have been if….” they weren’t such world renowned dumbasses…but we see why wrong guide likes them.

I didn’t particularly like this opening ceremony. The usual style with athletes walking into a stadium is more dramatic, I think.

But that doesn’t matter. The remarkable thing is that the world gathers in peace.

It was very theatrical and cinematic, with serious national pride themes.

So French.

It fit.

👍

Whaaaat they didn't have that ceremony???? You're right that's probably the best part of the evening where they all walk together and you see their faces all beaming with pride!?!? .

Whether he or she is a Grade A athlete or a not so good one they're all walking with such more enthusiasm and pride as they should be. Talk about taking the air out of the gallon haaaaaa??? What were those french officials thinking of??

They wanted to maximize the outside shots of the city as the cameras followed the boats carrying the athletes along the Seine.

I suppose it maximized the number of average citizens that could get a glimpse of the athletes as well.

I agree that the procession of athletes entering a stadium is more dramatic on one level, but the extended opportunity to promote the sights of Paris during that procession of boats and the broad exposure to the general public had some value.

👍

Madagascar missed the opportunity. They could have had cartoon penguins paddling their boat and it would have been awesome.

That's a bit of an understatement. Bizarre, degenerate, and very French. This one will go down in history alright, and for all the wrong reasons. Or right reasons. LOL.

this might come as a shock to you but i actually love drag. i also hate "what it's come to". a political tool of leftists everywhere.
a shield to push forward some very bad ideas. i try to approach things with a "taste is subjective" attitude...but i hate genderfucks.

some of those looks are just too clear gel toothpaste over a fright wig.

i will say i thought the headless victorian was a cool visual but its not really that new of an idea. you'd figure getting a shot to style the Olympics you could come up with something different but i guess thats what happens when you try to mass market a bad idea. it all just turns to blood and pedophilia.

A bit off topic but I always liked this from from when I first saw it.....rather more tasteful than the Paris crap
