And this is an example of how I think sometimes.

It drives me. Defines me. It's taken years to finally put it into action, yet I still have trouble finding the words.

So, I borrowed something I thought would be useful:

And I will see my dreams come alive at last,
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No they're not gonna change my mind

'Cause I've got faith of the heart.
Going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything.
I've got strength of the soul
No one's going to bend nor break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith

Peace be with you all. May your journey through the universal questions of life
bring you to a new moment of awareness. May it be an enlightening one.

The opening theme song from Star Trek: Enterprise? Nice!

Thanks folks.

I thought I was the only one who liked that song as a source of inspiration. I'm a Trekkie, but not into the costume or role playing. Though, I'm entertaining the thought of doing those Enterprise models as a collection.

They cost so damn much!

I'm forced, for the moment, to go back into the real world to do whatever I must.

Yesterday, an old friend interviewed me for a job he encouraged me to apply for. (I'm already in, but going through the required steps.) He was surprised I signed up for the gig. Even more surprised when I said I've decided to write and now it's my main thing.

My friend encouraged me with. "I didn't know you did that sort of thing. Knowing you, I'm sure you're good at it. I want to read your stuff."

It's not simply Star Trek or space travel. It's about looking over the horizon and wondering what else is out there. Willing to take on the extremes of the universe. Open the hearts and minds of everyday people. Brave explorers of the past and future to do whatever they must do. This song celebrates their spirit and ours.

What exactly do you write? I don't see any submissions on here. If you have any links to your work in other places I would love to read them. :)

I see myself as a human being with a desire to express myself beyond the normal boundaries.

Yes, they got a lot of shit for having a Star Trek theme with actual lyrics, but I always loved it.

Written by the prolific Diane Warren and recorded as Faith of the Heart
by Rod Stewart. As the theme to the short lived Star Trek : Enterprise series it was recorded as Where My Heart Will Take Me by Russell Watson. Seen him in concert twice. Great.

Great as a hymn at a funeral. Just listen to all the words.

Yes! Took me some time to warm up to that song and see it as it is forever embedded in my brain. Never seen Russell Watson in concert. Nor Rod Stewart.

Who would've thought Roddenberry's brain child would evolve into whatever it is today? Timing, to say the least.

Star Trek, and now 'Faith of the Heart' have inspired so many people in so many ways. Shame most of us take either for granted these days. It inspires me as a writer.

TOS inspired Lucas and Spielberg to begin production on the 1st Star Wars movies. So many technological breakthroughs! In turn, I believe it inspired the return of TOS characters on the big screen and thus, the rebooting of both.

Honesty, I wasn't expecting responses to this thread nor any so positive. It simply popped into my head like so many other things. *sniffle*

Also, has anyone seen my pen? 1 of my little doggies seemed to think it was a cool toy to chew on. .......Little fucker. I just bathed him and this is the thanks I get.

My other dog is very old in dog years and I'm thinking of writing a story w/her in mind as the main character. I'm told I should put her to sleep......but I can't bring myself to do it. She has such good days despite her many problems and occasional absent mindedness. I suppose I'm being selfish and delaying the inevitable w/her.

And the cat? Well, he simply won't stay out of the kitchen.

Enjoy her while she's here, I still miss my girl.

When you gotta write, you gotta write. :rose:

I had pets for as long as I can remember. Mainly dogs and cats. They were all special in their way. And then I had a talking cat that lived with me for almost 16 years. He died about 15 years ago now. But he still visits me in dreams. And I’m pleased to say that he’s looking good and still chatting away as if he had been vaccinated with a gramophone needle.

And, as for writing: for more than 40 years I wrote because it paid for the groceries. Now I write because that’s what I do.

And now I got my kink going on. Time to cut the grass. Wait....didn't I do that yesterday?

Oh well. It's Saturday and there's so many wonderful things to do outside.

Maybe, just maybe.........I'll write something kewl. Again.

Those wonderful pets of ours. Their all special in their own way. My favorites have been the ones I never wanted to begin with. But, you know, shit happens. I'm simply a sucker for that sort of thing.

Which reminds me, I once had this pet rooster........but he wasn't really mine.

Never could house train him.

And the day that rooster was riding on my shoulder and pooped on me? I was like, "Come on Charlie! WTF is wrong w/you today?"

Sorry to reiterate. I've had a great day!

Back at work and very time manageable to do some writing on the job.:nana::nana::nana:

Never thought I'd get over this hurtle. So much further to go and I welcome it.

The bonus? A wee bit more pay than I made last time I worked this job a few years ago. And this time - they called me.

Am I home there or is my toe just barely in the door?

And this is still my song:https://youtu.be/pmQsrXLofMY

Also, it's not an office job and the wi-fi is free.

I will see my dreams come alive at last
I will touch the sky....

Stay inspired. Don't let the world stifle us as writers and authors.

We are the voices for many who lack our abilities.

We are the world!
