Since growing up, one of my favorite Manga volumes has been the Parasyte Series. For those of you who know of it, congrats. For those who dont, I'm more than happy to explain.
Esentuially, the plot is this. One night, all over the world these spores are popping open, and they're releasing a small worm like parasyte, and they work simply.
When a Parasyte enters the hosts brain, it kills the person, and takes over in exchange. However, as a result, the skin and body becomes pliable, almost putty like, and becomes something else. If a person willed, they're head could split apart and reveal a pair of jaws. Examples of such...

However, they can also use such abilities on any form of the body. They can will their arms to take onto a pure steel sort of form, and their claws can become long, and dangerously sharp. The Parasyte that does take over a body MUST feed on it's own kind. A dog must eat a dog, human a human, and what not.
A Parasyte inhabited host MAY act calm and normal as the host normally would, but it's dangerous for two parasites to be in the same general area. Should they look into the others eyes, they WILL know a parasyte is around, and a fight usually tends to ensue.
However, the main chaghracter, Sinichi, was lucky. The Parasite that would have affected his head rather got sent to the right hand, and the Parasyte took over his right hand then. However, as a result, it had a mind of it's own, allowing it to see, act on it's own and even TALK to Sinichi.
Migi, the hand, does not require human to live, and rather live off what Sinichi eats, and as the progress goes on, Migi can detach from Sinichi and do his own bidding, as he feels compelled to learn all he can about the human race in which he is sent to annilate. He builds up a reslationship with Sinich...however much a relationship between a host and the Parasyte can grow.
Sinichi, with these powers, feels compelled to help kill the Parasytes that plague his small town, and with Migi's help, wants to help in any way shape or form.
However, our Journey takes us to another cast of charachters...
Bakura Takaku
Appearance: (Short brown hair with glasses, usually serious attitude)
Relationship with the Parasite: has one in his left hand, which he has dubbed Saku
History: Bakura was orginally a scholar student at his school in Japan, but after the parayte invasion on his town, it all changed when he met Saku.
Laying in his bed one day, earbuds in his ears as he read his book, he was lucky the parasyte couldn't enter his body, and accidently went into his left hand. This caught the birth of his new, very reluctant partner, Saku.
Saku is a very conceited Parasyte, and rather than wanting to help Bakura merely wants to kill other parasytes. He's a fighter, a killer, and basically, truly, the only one he cares about is Bakura when the situation calls for it. His faorite form is crowing long, black blades in his nails, and with Bakura plans to destroy the current nusciance of other Parasytes around.
Basically, I need a few girls, and even a few guys. You have a few choices, and either be a pure human, a person with a parasyte in an individual part of the body, or a person completely possessed BY a parasyte. However, some act indifferently towards others, and would rather be left lone.
The choice is yours...
