I'm stuck listening to this show called "paranormal investigator" with a client. Made me think about friends who have talked about watching these kinds of shows.

So, do YOU believe?

In general terms no. I think there is something after this existence and I do think there are some sort of overlap, but poltergeists? No.

Oh. lol

I didn't know you were a care giver.

Not that there is anything wrong with giving care in a Motel 6, either.

I don't. It's deep rooted in my childhood. I have had instances that raise the fine hairs on the body when I recall them. So out of sheer stubbornness I force myself to deny the possibility.

It's kinda like the baby deer hunkering down in the long grass with it's eyes squeezed tight shut. If it can't see the big bad wolf sniffing around, the wolf can't see it.

It's all because of Jesus.

Matthew 27:51 And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split. 52 The tombs also were opened. And many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised, 53 and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many.
Do you think once they're resurrected that they would ever die again? Of course not; those saints are still alive and immortal, so they have little else to do but fuck with people.

Seems like a disproportionate amount of threads about ghosts pop up. Must be Halloween. Or maybe I've completely fucked up my concept of time via shitty sleep schedule.

The night nurse with my granny yesterday was freaky scared of everything. Granny was watching some show like that, some ghost bullshit. I wasn't paying that much attention, I was more into making sure that she didn't rebreak her hip or try to get up on her own or some stupid shit, but the nurse came in and started commenting on how scary those shows were. And we were both like, "...no? Not at all?" And this bitch was a NURSE. Like she really needs better nerves than to be scared by people screaming at noises. It's... not a good situation.

During that conversation she also reviled that she was afraid of most modern entertainment including Harry Potter, Twilight and The Walking Dead.

Was there? Sorry. This had nothing to do with that. It's just as I said, I was stuck watching and boredom made me ask.

Maybe not. I haven't been sleeping lately, but I remember that at some point in the past, recent enough for me to remember, I posted in a similar thread about how while I was growing up I used to see ghosts and shit, and NOT being COMPLETELY retarded I was like, "Hey adults who are in control of me, I think I'm hallucinating, I should go to the doctor."

And they were all, every one of them, like, "YOU'RE A MEDIUM YOU HAVE THE PSYCHIC POWERS!"

And I was all, "Nah, pretty sure I'm crazy and I need medicine."

So when I got old enough I went to the doctor and, sure enough, I was just crazy and needed medicine and they fixed it for me with two little pills a day. It's super easy to not be haunted. Because science is a thing. If you completely ignore the fact that it's in your head and even people who firmly believe in the paranormal will tell you that "the sight" is hereditary; then you can believe in ghosts. "My grandma had the sight too!" Bitch your grandma was also hallucinating! That's why you hallucinate. It's a genetic disease. Take your dumb ass to the doctor.

Hey, I don't see why not. Maybe it's anecdotal, but I've heard and seen things that have eroded my skepticism about ghosts and shit like that. I pretty much do believe that they exist.

I'm a psychologist by training and an amateur natural philosopher.

I'm confident we've barely scratched the surface of discovery. We may know our neighborhood well but look into the night sky. Barely a century ago we knew little about electro-magnetic phenomena, and less about nuclear forces.
