I heard a BBC report on the radio this morning. Apparently the Roman Catholic Church will shortly be releasing a public apology to the world for its attrocities of the past. I think that they are referring to historical fuck ups which they made like "the Spanish inquisition" and their obvious discrimination of Jews - god, only now have they finally acknowleged that the hollocaust was a shocking violation of human rights - before this they kinda shrugged it off, well because it was only the Jews (who only until recently are finally being acknowledged as humans).
The point I am making is that a half-baked symphony of phony sympathy means little or nothing unless there is a change of heart as well. Yet still, they continue to be gross violators of human rights: they do, for example refuse to condone homosexuality, fuck they even frown upon masturbation.
These close-minded institutions are the very evil that I was referring to on an earlier thread. I wonder how many people have died at the hands of the Roman catholic Church's dogmatic stance. For that matter, I wonder how many people have died in the name of religion period. What a fucking evil thing it must be.
I am sorry if I have offended anyone - I have just heard the BBC report and I am still feeling a little shocked.
PS: To the great believers on the BB (and I know that there are some), this is not a dig at your faith. To understand what I mean you must understand that I have chosen to distinguish between God (who's divine existence is not in question) and the Catholic Church (which is a man made creation and doesn't always, I am sure, act as a bona fide agent of the divine).
