Just to keep from threadjacking, I'll weigh in with this: if no one supported assholes like that - no lawyers willing to take the case, no judges willing to hear it, it would go away.

I was heartened to see that there had been fundraisers and such held to help this couple meet their expenses. In the midst of all the ranting about assholes, that's a nice reminder that there are large numbers of Good People still out there. I'd rather just focus on them.
