Mary Ellen sat at the kitchen table as her husband hid behind his paper drinking his coffee and eating his toast she had made him.
"I think we should have the house painted" she said as she raised the fine china cup to her lips and sipped her tea.
"Whatever dear" her husband moaned.
"I think I will call Mark" she said clearing her handy man with her husband in case there were any questions or whispers at the country club.
"That's fine" he said as usual to anything she asked. She often felt she could say "I am thinking of having a three way with Betsy and her husband next door and letting Kelly (our youngest) join in" and he would say "That's fine."
The kids were already off to school and now she just needed to get him out of here to begin her plot.
Mary Ellen had been taken for granted for too long. She was an attractive woman who had bore Steve four beautiful children and raised them nearly by herself as he pursued "the law" as he put it. She missed feeling wanted. The newspaper was like a brick wall between them and seemed to always be there. It had been months since he showed any interest or willingness, even after a few too many scotches at the club he would just fall asleep as she went down on him.
"Have a good day dear" she chimed cheerfully as she pressed her phone to open it and as she heard the Mercedes engine in the garage she pressed "Mark" in her contacts.
"Hi Mark, it's Mary Ellen. I was hoping you could come over and give me a price for painting the house?" she said cheerfully into the phone as her hand slid along her necklace laying just above her cleavage her low cut sundress revealed. How her husband paid no attention to such a well kept and attired woman is a mystery, unless of course if he is having an affair, which she often suspected.
"Great see you at ten" she said and turned off the phone.
"Where to start?" she said as she cleaned up the kitchen and waited for her handy man.
