Yah well to reach "herd immunity" the death total would be around 2.2-2.6 million Americans, so there is along way to go yet... well as Dr Conager would say cause of...Maths.

This assumes Covid-19 doesn't mutate, and the body "remembers" the virus for long periods of time, without needing a booster vaccination....

We have prevented actual herd immunity while destroying the economy.

When we produce a scary number, we should express it as a percentage of population.

When we decided to "flatten the curve" it was not to stop, or cure the virus, but to place it into the future when we were better able to deal with it. Ta Da! It's the future. The unfortunate thing is that too many governors, mayors and lay people still thing the measures to flatten the curve are a cure-all. So they destroy the middle class (small business) and wreck the economy over the hyperventilating that was the effort to remove Trump from office. And you celebrate. You gloat. You seek some sort of validation. I find it all too petty and unscientific.
