A futuristic rp around the theme of gunslinging. First thread, I guess I'll see how this works.

Welcome

Ok, this is my very first thread so please be patient. Welcome all to "Packing Heat". This is a modern/futuristic take on gunslinging set in a foreign world. It doesn't follow a strictly western theme, but if you want to play a cowboy then you do that.

I do not want to make this too restricted so there are few parameters set for the roleplay. The World is divided into three continents, each with their own history, but there is no war or otherwise pressing event at hand. The story is about all of you. You create your own adventures and if things get slow then I will introduce a new and exciting threat. Or you can.

There are plenty of monsters to fight beyond the cities' walls, and as always there are evil men in the world. Feuds can also come between players.

If this sounds interesting to anyone, please post suggestions and preliminary character designs here. And I will post Place names and world history if I see an interest.

Exposition and Character

The world of Araien is a dusty post apocalyptic wasteland. It was once a very green world, brimming with life, now it is just a ball of dirt, spinning through the cosmos. Only one real city remains. In the O continent, there is a massive fortress. A bustling city called Kain. Within it's sheltering walls, reside the fortunate, wealthy home owners who were able to buy their survival, while others must earn it. Many people have been shot at the front gates of this luxury bunker for crimes no steeper than asking for supplies. Many a man has cursed the guards for their cruelty, and a revolt was staged a short while ago. No survivors.
The other two continents, Ka, and Hura, are also in a constant state of struggle.
In all three continents people have banded together to form factions called "Circles". Among them are the Renshi, Hakio, Taikou, Wasai, and Leo.

In the Taikou faith, there is only one commandment. Survive.

Weapons:An antique Desert Eagle with a custom Barrel. Modified for extra power, very few can handle the kick.

Hey guys, thanks for the support. To answer to your understandable concerns I Have posted below information on the circles and on the two other continent. All information is subject to change as I want to include other peoples ideas as well.

And before I forget, I made a few spelling errors in my previous post. these will be changed immediately after I finish this.

The other Circles are similar in nature, some more peaceful, few more brutal. Renshi admires stealth and agility, Hakio values art and communication , Taikou admires cunning and devotion, Wasai are skilled in the arcane arts, and Leo admires strength and courage. Their founders are Blaynai, Gohymn, "shadow", Keilo, and Tojin respectively.

These are only a few Circles. You may create a new one if you wish. You may play as the founder of any Circle if you would rather lead than follow, the name and information of that leader will be changed to suit your bio. You can also be residents of Kain, members of the Kainite Guard, Mayors or citizens of any small towns we might encounter and pretty much anyone else.

I mentioned before that *Araien is a post-apocalyptic wasteland. Now apocalypse takes many forms in fiction, and in real life as some believe we are post-apocalypse now. In this case I am referring to a war. In part... The continents of O and Ka were at war, Ka at the time was a military super power. It was attempting to invade O using nuclear threats and terror tactics and nearly succeeded, at that time, Hura stepped in, knowing that if Ka was not stopped soon, they would fall next. The relatively small Continent overcame the might of the Ka by dispatching a squad of specialists to go behind enemy lines and sabotage the missile base before the missiles arrived, at the same time, their army provided quite the humorous distraction by apparently trying to cut off the Ka Seventh Regiment. Their was a problem however and the warheads arrived early. In a heroic final attempt to save their homeworld, the soldiers detonated the bombs then and there. The rest I'm afraid is lost to us now, but the explosion couldn't have wrought so much damage on its own... There had to have been another factor... As the story develops we will learn more. I hope that that helps, Ultimate, if there is more specific detail that you would like to learn of the Circles, please continue to ask and I will accommodate your needs as best I can.

Cool, Um... with the circles are they just a religion that people choose or is it more like a lifestyle that they are born into and have to follow? Or were they raised as such...

Are the seperated or do they meet in everyday life... on a regular basis?

As in real life, groups of friends form together, contact is made with other groups and they may or may not get along. The Circles are spread out across the world there may be a single city with ten Circles or an entire country with none. No one is born into anything, you can join at any age and work your way up. Some Circles have their own religion, but they're more just like clubs. I actually thought of including some kind of Bingo or Tennis Circle as a joke. Does that answer your question? ...s.

Laser is very much plausible, lead bullets are a classic, and I know that I for one can't say know to a classic. Bows and arrows or anything else you want is fine. Appearance: 5'6, Hair is a deep rich auburn brown that falls to the center of her back. Eyes are deep green, think shamrocks, and a beautiful smile... Beautiful full figured girl with composure, flair, and boldness to know how far she can go.

Wardrobe: She has many different dresses and costumes that she wears but when she's traveling or not performing she is usually wearing her sating and lace taffeta and fringe. History: Grew up with her parents who were performers. They were also thieves. But they weren't tacky about it they only stole what they absolutely needed and while she does know it's wrong there's not much she can do now. It's second nature... if she needs it she'll usually steal it.
