Peter Hitchens is almost as much of a dickhead as his more famous dead brother was.

Wealth has already been redistributed, from the working class to the ultra rich. Our laws have been written to support their almost exponential wealth gain. Socialism today (at least in part) is about getting the flow of cash back into balance. I work just as hard as most of the ultra-rich (certainly the second-generation wealthy) but my income remains basically steady. That's not itself a bad thing (I make a good living) until it's compared to others who do less and yet make more and more and more simply because they had so much more to start with.

Whenever I hear conservatives whine about redistribution, I shudder a little. Redistribution has been going on for years. It's only the direction of that redistribution that's an issue, not whether or not redistribution should occur.

Always with the most erudite of discussional rhetoric; so fact based that it cannot possibly be ad hominem. I mean, who needs to reply intelligently to something, or someone so stupid?

And the way it ACTUALLY works is the the flow of the monies changes from to the ultra-rich to the government. It will NEVER achieve the goals that the advocates have articulated. Never has, never will.

When will that happen?

Because so far it's bee pretty steady government taking money and giving it to the elites.

When will the elites get bent over like the rest of us?

Redistributing that wealth requires a lot of overhead...

;)

A lot of buildings and infrastructure...

A lot of management...

~and~

A lot of staff...

And a lot of people not quite rich enough to pay-to-play their way out of the scheme, but strangely enough, at the same time, promoting it as if it were a holy duty...

*chuckle*

You know the answer to that.

I cannot wait for the debates as The Donald turns to Her Majesty and says, "I know you play for pay, because I used to pay you to play!" Gotta love the Willie Sutton's of the world...

I know, M'aricuh will burn first.

I just can't stand the GOP approved narrative that the bazzillionaires who are paying the government to either effectively through legal structuring/protection or directly through an alphabet agency go rob the middle class are somehow victims of the government goons they employ.

I'm looking forward to these debates...should be funny and sad at the same time.:D

As opposed to the Democrat lip service to the idea that they will actually make those guys pay up?

Funny and sad, especially since Trump's debate prep has been eating hot dogs with alleged serial sexual harasser Roger Ailes and trying to make him giggle.

It's going to be comical watching Trump go down in a ball of ego consuming flames.

Trump will run out of ammo in twenty minutes. The remaining two hours of the debate will be replaced with Friends reruns.

Individuals instantly surrender their natural liberty (whether they realize it or not) the nanosecond they cede that anyone else or any entity other than themselves has any degree of more control over the fruits of their own labor than themselves.

I have no desire whatsoever to run with such a pack of cowardly lemmings.

But...

...it's always a gas to read wannabe victims like carpet-munching socialist sigh whine about others' power over her when she won't even stand up and firm and fight (even to imprisonment or death) for what is naturally hers in the first place.
