Ozone-friendly chemicals lead to warming...

Oops....

WASHINGTON - Cool your home, warm the planet. When more than two dozen countries undertook in 1989 to fix the ozone hole over Antarctica, they began replacing chloroflourocarbons in refrigerators, air conditioners and hair spray.

But they had little idea that using other gases that contain chlorine or fluorine instead also would contribute greatly to global warming.

reminds me of the health conscious people who, a few years back,

replaced butter with margarine,

replaced sugar with saccharine.

But... every planet that has an Ozone layer has a hole at the north and south pole... It's a naturally occurring phenominon...

You may want to quantify that statement. Not every planet has an ozone layer.

You might want to reread what I said. I said "every planet with an ozone layer"

You are right, sorry. But as we only know of one planet with an ozone layer...nevermind.

I'm pretty sure a couple other planets have ozen layers. I just don't remember which ones (I learned all of this stuff fifteen years ago, I haven't been keeping up on it).

Zeb,
This whole ozone saving this is a hoax. The propellent in spray cans was replaed with Carbon Dioxide which is a known cause of global warming. Freon was replaced in refrigeraton units with products like R-22 which is mostly Freon (with some really nasty, poisonous additives) anyway. The number of privately owned cars beltching Carbon Monoxide has been reduced by the use of catalytic converters in some countries, but the biggest polluter is China which is also the fastest growing automobile market in the world. Desil trucks and "commercial vehicles" (buses, company owned fleet vehicles etc) are not controlled at all.

Just my thoughts.
