Okay so I know that depending upon what a guy eats his sperm can taste different, because of how acidic or base it is...my question is however, can it get acidic enough to irritate skin, like when you have *extreamly* sensitive skin? Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I'm sure it's possible, but extremely rare for it to irritate healthy (i.e. non-abraded) skin. It's best to check with a dermatologist or other specialist if you think it might be irritating you though.

My semen is like acid.......it will burn right through you. :D

i see sweeterika got in here too and she makes a good point... better than anything i have to offer.

since you bumped the thread, i did the best i could to try and find something. the best i could come up with was a WEAK link between chlorinated water and your situation. without getting into a lot of detail (mostly 'cause i CAN'T, lol) i understand that heavily chlorinated drinking water can cause lingering effects in parts of the body (breasts, ejaculate, urine, etc.)... maybe that has something to do with it?

i'm mostly grasping at straws here but tryin' the best i can.

Hmmm...that's not very comforting, is it? Probably another good reason to double filter our disgusting, chlorine laden water!

A few weeks ago my husband's was extremely acidic, almost like vinegar- I really noticed it and couldn't bring myself to swallow. I think the problems were that he wasn't drinking enough water and he was drinking a lot of coffee and Coke. So, perhaps increasing filtered water intake and cutting out the acidic beverages would decrease any skin irritation as well, but I'm just taking a wild guess.

this makes me think that our water testin' guy should start testing my ejaculate instead of whatever the crap is that comes outta my spigot.

truth of the matter is that i think your idea holds more water... it's more likely that it's a skin issue on the recipient rather than something he ingested. but who knows.

I do have rather sensitive skin...one summer I somehow managed to get sun poisoning while wearing SPF 50; and I reapplied it constantly before we went outside.

I used to see a dermatologist so I might ask her about this.

Thanks everyone for your general insight, I didn't expect too much enlightenment but part of me was hoping for it, at least this gives me some more ideas and clues on this.

I believe you can get sun poisoning with or without a sunburn...it's more about how your body deals with heat than your skin. I had some severe form of it when I was 6, despite frequent applications of sunblock.

Are you irritated when the semen touches any skin (even a forearm, etc.)? I'd imagine that might be a good way to narrow down the possibilities. If it's just your genital area, it could be that he has a yeast infection or something. Allergy, irritation, or other, I think you'd both probably be wise to visit a doctor to get it checked. I might start with a GP or gynocologist, and they can refer you to a dermatologist if necessary.

You may be deficient in some bizzare mineral.

Make sure you wash the skin straight after contact.

Odd question: but what does it taste like??

Usually bitter, some days moreso then others; occasionally it's been kind of sour tasting too.

Sorry the reply took so long, kinda forgot about the thread
