.....husband finds out that his wife is cheating on him with a girl. She argues that it's not cheating, because it's another woman and two women can't reproduce (the standard used by the New Hampshire Supreme Court for saying that lesbian affairs weren't cheating)....so, out of anger, and to prove his point, hubby puts up a personal ad seeking an infertile woman to fuck...on the grounds that it's not cheating since they can't reproduce....one woman is a bit shocked at the ad, but curious, being infertile, and not used to men wanting a woman who can't have kids...she replies to the ad...contacts him....finds out what his wife is doing....is very outraged....they meet and become lovers...wife finds out, is very pissed, and the husband throws her own logic in her face....has her stumped...she tells him to stop....he says, only if you stop having your affair...she refuses, so he refuses....but they don't divorce, because both of them like having more than one partner...she was just trying to have her way and he was determined to hold her to the same standard.....the other woman has a few problems with the idea at first, but soon finds the experience of being a mistress more liberating than that of being the wife....the couple stay married for many years, growing old together as well as with their lovers....the wife eventually accepts that she was wrong to set a double standard, but by this point, they are comfortable in their situation....not so much an arrangement as an impasse....that has turned into an arrangement by default and habit...

I'm picturing this being a fairly wealthy couple, shacking up with their mistresses on opposite wings of the house.

Of course, this would work just as well with different bedrooms in the same two-room apartment (the second bedroom having previously been used as an office/computer room for one or the other).

Also some opportunities for when the two mistresses meet. I'd rather they not hook up with each other, if just to make the story stand out in that way, but you could have some interesting conversations as they try to work past the awkwardness of dealing with eachother (I mean, maybe both find themselves waiting for the bathroom, or both craving coffee, something like that, thus forcing conversation). You could get all sorts of interesting interpersonal relationships out of those two, ranging from them becoming bosom buddies due to the common weirdness of their relationships, to outright antagonizing each other.

Oh, and you can always do a twist on Fight Club, and have both mistresses be alternate personalities of the same girl, with the couple not finding out until later on into their relationships. :nana:

True, I want to avoid the threesome deal this time....it's okay for much of my work....but this isn't a threesome kind of story....this is darker...too dark for orgies....threesomes or foursomes....

At first, after all, the other women don't like each other....they each take their lover's side, after all.....they get to know each other, however....maybe as a result of sharing a house....a wealthy couple fits....another reason that they avoid divorce, besides residual feelings for each other.....divorce is costly, especially to the rich....

That would be one very confused and conflicted woman, Tex.....but an interesting twist.....I still prefer two different women who don't do the orgy thing....just because an orgy doesn't fit this particular theme....this is a darker, more disturbing kind of tale....that is how I see it....darkness with some hot sex added....

This is actually a very cute and twisted idea, Hon. I love it!

Thanks, sweetie....I wanted to play around with the twisted logic of those who think that "eatin' ain't cheatin'"..... ;)

Well, that and it's just fun to see the whole impasse them play out....a marriage surviving despite a very profound difference of opinion for a while...surviving by default rather than agreement...

I honestly wonder if this type of tale would "survive" in Loving Wives since many of the readers who send feedback say "the husband deserves his revenge"... lol

I've never read anything like that before, and it should be pretty interesting, esp. up to the conclusion. I'd look forward to reading it.

You mean because he doesn't toss her to the curb? lol.... ;) :D

Thanks....the impasse twist is one I have been toying with for a while...

Well, because he'd get "his revenge" having sex outside of the marriage too. Even though, as a whole (unless her "accepting" the open marriage), this tale doesn't seem like a loving wife. Man, what do those damn readers want over there? lol

Still love this idea though no matter what category it goes in. ;)

LOL....there's revenge and revenge....lol....it's bound to piss off Don (no pregnancy), Alvaron (he hates revenge affairs), and certain other folks, while others...well, who knows...

Glad that someone can appreciate the devious nature of this plot... ;)

It is cheating?

I guess it is cheating.
