cym tried to do a nice thing. And I appreciate it. I asked her in a PM to comment on a BDSM themed poem. She apparently enjoyed it, as she posted this thread without talking to me about it.. Why do I highlight that info? Because of the email I've gotten about this thread.

I think publicity is dangerous. It just paints a target on you for the assholes to attack.

Perhaps I'm just being ridiculous, but I don't enjoy getting e-mail from people about "feeling sorry for myself," don't like being hit with empty "1" votes, and I don't enjoy being accused of using my friends for free publicity.

Take a look around the story and poetry feedback room, and tell me that I'm dominating the conversation there, demanding feedback and begging for votes. Go ahead, I dare you.

I never would have done this had i thought twice instead of acting in the spirit of "it's a great poem so everyone should know about it". I did it because i thought you all might want to know about a really wonderful piece of writing.

I didn't ask Risia before i posted this thread. I simply assumed it would all work out beautifully. I'm an optimist - and R is paying for that, obviously. I didn't think about any petty reactions coming back to bite her.

Risia, i beg your pardon for that oversight. I should have known that there are those at Lit who are incredibly petty and cannot just be glad to know about the successes others of us have encountered.

I haven't gotten a single pm or email from disgruntled people about putting this here. Didn't know there was any bad feeling about it until now, this minute, when i saw R's last post. Aside from GuyJD, who had the balls to post his objections here, the rest of you who objected to this are gutless wonders for not saying something to *me*, the original poster.

If you have *any* decency at all, you won't take you ire at me posting this out in her.

I often despair how indecent we are to each other here, though, and feel bitterly disappointed in the overall flavor of a few bottom-feeding Literoticians once again.

Risia, i am terribly sorry for getting you and your wonderful poem involved in such nasty doings.

cym--I'm just venting about a couple of stupidity-laced emails I received this afternoon. Add them on top of the dozen or so I've gotten in the last week, and I was all primed to explode.

I appreciate what you meant to do here. And I don't want you to get ridiculous email/PMs about this thread. There's no reason for it. I just wanted to let those "anonymous" mailers know that their shit had the intended effect--it hurt, and it pissed me off.

Maybe if I give them what they want, they'll go away.
