Our sick and twisted minds?

Hey,

So, I was writing yet another sex scene, and thinking. I have to think up my wild and crazy sex, 'cause I don't have much exciting sexual experience. I mean, I have sexual experience, I have *fun* sexual experience, but sometimes for a story I have to go past fun and into the sick and twisted. It's hard!

Where do you find your inspiration for crazy sex? Do you write what you know, do you make it up, or do you read it somewhere else and steal it? I've stolen ideas before

Chicklet

Oh Chicklet, great question!

I always try out every sex scene before I write about it. I fully appreciate the 'write what you know' theory.

:D

I think alot of my sex scenes actually come from reality,or at least originate from things I have done myself. I guess I pick up bits and pieces from other sources, books,tv,friends and even strangers.

Mostly they bubble up from the depths of my brain and just oooooooooze out.

A few thousand years of experience is a help.

I could say "Nothing that humans do is alien to me" but some Latin person living after me said it so much better even if in Latin.

Og

I've said a few times and will repeat here that all my Lit. stories are utter fiction, i.e., I've never had any bdsm experience, nor f/f sex, and have not been to Japan. But, I read a lot and know how to research most any topic, and have an imaginative mind cum fantasy sex life.

Outside the erotic, people write about countries they've never visited, outer space, times in which they did not live, etc. (Shakespeare never went to Venice but he set two plays there; also Ancient Rome, Egypt, etc.)

One need not ever 'steal' sex scenes. I doubt there are any that have not been written down in some way over the past 20+ centuries; a writer of erotica is most often only embellishing or focusing differently.

Age is an advantage

Hey, Chickie,

I think some of us have the advantage of time. Of course not nearly the amount of time which Ogg has taken advantage. :) But shared stories, shared experiences and, for me, the biggest inspiration of all - what might have been.

So far, I've been keeping myself to areas of which I know. When that changes, I probably will not advertise and trust that the research I do will be almost as adequate as Perdita's so that the reader will feel it is totally real.

I have a lot of cum fantasies too. I like focusing on the milky strand stretching from my pink nipple to the opening in the head of my lover's cock. It's good to see that someone is embellishing. Vive la différence!

Sick and twisted?

i don't know if I have published anything that would be considered those things, but a little off-base? Definitely. For me at least. I've never had sex with an elf woman like Kobress has or had group sex like in another of my stories, and I've never been married like in two others. So I've had to stretch things a little.
Based on experience? I would say only minimally. Yes, experience is there, but it's more fantasy, or should I say, ideal reality, the characters enjoying sex more than real people tend to (at least on a day to day basis) and having fewer if any inhibitions.
I'd say it comes from a variety of realistic experience, which I feel grounds it more instead of letting things get so realistic as to appear like true porn ("here's your pizza. Wanna fuck?" "Oh, yes!!"), mixed in with fantasy (About real people, not Jennifer Love Hewitt or Jenna Jameson), and blended with just enough pop influence to keep it from seeming too rediculously pieced together (Kinda' like "Ma'am, my penis is only five inches, here's your pizza, wanna fuck?" "It's okay, you're cute, and I like your sense of humor, do me doggy syle!"--isn't that an ugly picture?).
You get my drift. Is that what you wanted to know, Chicklet?

Interesting.

I find that a lot (if not all) of the extreme (to me) sex scenes I write are what I feel I would be capable of if I was actually experiencing them.

When I write a sex scene it almost always stimulates/excites me and makes me wonder what it would be like if... If 'if' sounds good I just carry on, to excess.

Gauche

My stories are strictly fantasy, unfortunately. I'd love to live them out, though! *sigh* Maybe one day I will get to.

Well, my writing rarely strays all that far out into the unknown. It have in one or two unpublished stories, but then they have all just descended into cornyness, and I have scrapped them.

and:

What I don't have I steal. Shamelessly.

I base on experience, steal and imagine. Starting to feel it's a bit hard to variate though.

Well, I've written lesbian scenes, and -- guess what? --
I've never participated in any. (I wrote one story from
the point-of-view of a horse. That was imagination, too.)
|
I have a saying: All my stories are true; none of my
stories is factual.
|
As far as needing some sort of wild sex in the scene, I
think that is selling ourselves short. As another
writer has said of her (? I should go back to read the
thread again, but I won't) real life, she's had enjoyable
sex, but not wildly kinky sex. Well, what's wrong with
writing about enjoyable -- but not wildly kinky -- sex?

Hey, yourself, Chickie,
I just ask Perdita or the Venerable Og.

My sex life is quite tame compared to the stuff in my stories. I've had to rely entirely on imagination for many of the scenes that I've written. Of course, since some of them are things that I would never even _want_ to attempt in real life, that's probably for the best ;)

Dear Maths,

Why do I lack an adjective in your estimation? Not that I rate 'venerable', but your sentence leaves me feeling a lack (and alas).

Perdita

Please forgive me, as this is my very first post. (I'm a bulletin board virgin. There's a word not used after my name in a looong time.)

I don't know about others, but I originally started writing erotica to "purge" or just sort out in my head the naughty, sexy, outrageous dreams that I have. It wasn't until recently that I ever even showed them to anyone. *blush* And now I have two posted! I write for my own peace of mind, and my own enjoyment. If others can get pleasure from it, all the better!

Oh, I'd imagine most people other than Ogg lack adjectives - Ogg does, because he's, well, Ogg.

Raph, adjectiveless also.

p.s. - Hi whisper and welcome to the AH.

Perdita dearest,
Although you are nobility in you own right, Og is the King, after all.

I get a lot of my inspiration from experience.
What personal experience hasn't given me, I make up for with my vivid imagination. I read a lot of erotic horror, I mean really dark, twisted stuff, such as that written by Wrath James White. His stories are by no means mainstream, but if you've got a perverted mind like mine, it has great benefits. Personally, I blame Mike... :p

If I wrote what I know, the readers would be bored to death. No stealing (yet :p ). My sex scenes are about 5% what I know, 20% fantasy and 75% is the building up of what I do know. There's imagination in there somewhere too.

Hello Whispering_surrender and welcome! I can completely understand where you're coming form because my very first story was written because I'd had a dream that just needed writing down before i could get any rest whatsoever!! :D

Hey all:

Since I am fairly new at this as well, I have relied on many, many years of experience to get the basis for my stories.

So far, experience and not really fiction. As far as crazy sex goes, I am not sure yet. Have many stories of crazy times in which sex was had, public places, definitely added thrills.

Will it get easier? Not sure, but know I need more character development. Last story was strictly go to the sex and play with the story. More could be written, but need to spend time and make the people real. But that could be a problem as well. Too real, names changed will not protect the players.

So fiction may become more of the focus.
