What a pretty cat. She's fortunate to find a home like yours.

Dumping pets is so cruel. Most are killed in the first days...or starve.

Four of our six cats were strays we found...or they found us.

awww what a beautiful sweet kitty... hubby and i adopted two from a shelter and we can tell one was abused previously. has been such a joy watching her come out of her shell with love and patience... she has completely bonded with us and is so obviously completely grateful to us every single day - is funny and sad all at once...

Wondering, calicos are always female...or do i remember that correctly? Anyway, as a child, I was fortunate enough to spend a few years living with one. She was wonderful

Yes, calicoes are almost always female. Orange and black coat colors are both expressed on the X chromosome, so male cats can be orange or black, but not both. The only exception is the rare male with an extra chromosome that is XXY. Interestingly, the pattern for a calico is determined by position in the uterus, so calico clones will probably not look like each other, even though they have identical genes.
