Otto & George is a great act. I opened for them about a month ago at Bananas Comedy Club in Elmsford, NY. Funny as hell. That George hates gaylords almost as much as I do.

I worked with Otto and George for about ten years in a hundred different clubs and colleges. Ventrilloquist act. Worst act I ever saw. Nobody booed, though. You kind of felt sorry for the guy. I mean, you could see the dummy's lips move.

This isn't your typical ventriloquist act. It's not about how skilled Otto is. It's about the fucked up things that George will say. I imagine the act is the same as when you saw it.

there was this ventriloquist on the radio. That's a good place to start. I'm thinking Edgar Bergen now. Poor Candy. Bet you didn't see his lips move.

Otto's act wasn't awful just because he was a terrible ventriloquist, it was awful because had no timing, no material, no connection to his audience, and gave off a stench of "amateur" he could never shake.

But, the guy worked, all the time, and apparently still does. Hell, I'm not doing comedy full time any more, and he still is. There's a lot to be said for staying power over talent. Just ask Moe, Larry and Curly.

I just saw him this weekend. he sold out a 250 seat room. he's gotten a lot better or at least developed a following.

Don't get me wrong. He got laughs. If he didn't get laughs he would never work. It's not all that hard to get laughs if every other word out of your mother is cock, pussy, or "Die!" He's hackey.
