What are some other story sites that are similar to Lit - that is, where readers can vote and leave comments?

My erotic horror story was rejected. It's about a man who goes mad and kills his family in their sleep, goes into the couple's psychology and dynamics, is the house haunted or is something else going on.... Anyway, it's not snuff but I guess it's beyond Lit's comfort zone.

If anybody is interested in reading and commenting on it let me know and I'll stick it in here - I guess that would be okay since its not a public area.

Have you PM'd Laurel and asked her exactly why it was rejected? That would be my first move.

Storiesonline.net will take anything....

Thanks. I thought I had tried that. I double checked and it turns out I hit the email button, which she has turned off. I think I emailed the webmaster by mistake. I'll PM her and ask.

What was the reason given on the rejection?

This was the rejection bullet:
Is there excessive degradation, violence, snuff, or abuse of characters in your submission? If it is submitted as a Horror story, is it more snuff than actual horror?

The story is told to the reader by a "story teller" after events have occured. The story does mention the wife was sexually abused as a child but no detail, that the husband does does hit family members if they disobey but no detail, and that the oversexed husband takes the wife whenever he wants, again no detail. I can definately see where that can be abusive, but I also explain how it fits into the couples dynamics. Anyway, there are a number of areas Laurel may have objected so I hope it's an easy fix, but I have a feeling...

While I was at it I also asked Laurel for clarification on my troll story. The rejection bullet on that one said it was better suited for this forum! So you may see it here. I used some actual pc's from a couple of author's stories here. The troll starts out nice then gets drunk and mean with the votes and pc's. There's a reaction formation going on with the troll. I'm guessing it was rejected because it was too "real" and may really insult some readers. We'll see.

Without having read it, I'd say that based on your synopsis, it was considered to be more horror than erotic.

That may be true, but if so why not put it in the Non-Erotic category. Hopefully, I'll hear from Laurel soon and will post reasons here.
