Is there any way to see what a story's been rated if it's not your story? The top stories show their ratings, but most of them don't. Or am I missing something obvious?

would be nice

dr_m-

once again sarah is on target.

it would be nice, though, to have the ratings on the authors' pages too.

I'll second that.

I'll Second That

Having the rating on the author page, along with the Category for each story would be great.

That way, if you read a particular story by an author, and want to read more from that author in the same category, you can find them easily.

And having the ratings would allow you to better decide what you wanted to read, or not.

Oh, and while we are at it, putting the date there too would be just about perfect. Being able to easily pick and choose from old versus recent works and see how someone's writing has evolved would make the browsing and noodling about the site more interesting.

brilliant

Singularity-

All very good suggestions... or at least put the stories in chronological order of posting with most recent at the top instead of alphabetically.

With the categories and ratings of course.

Filing

Let's file them alphabetically by number.

Actually, I'd prefer that the scores on my stuff be as hard to access as possible.

Well, why not make it optional? Like the 'Allow for feedback' option when you submit a story. Why not also "Open score to public?" Make it only available on the Author's Bio-page, so that the reader would have to express interest in the author before judging them based off score. (Might have already been mentioned.)

You could do it for date to, but I'd rather it'd be mandatory. BUT, I can see why not, since it might discourage feedback if the story were over a year old. I know I don't mind feedback for my two-year old story though!

Part of the answer

If you go to the 'Stories and Pics' index, scroll down to 'Search Stories' and then search by Author name, you will be presented with a list of the particular author's stories in chronological order of submission, latest last. You will also see whether any of the stories have an 'E' or 'H' rating and the category in which they've been placed. No scores, alas.

Looking at my own tells me I haven't submitted anything since last year! Not counting my 'Snippettsville 600' pieces, that is. Thinks: where's that muse when I need her?

I agree with you all, I would love just such items to be placed with the author's page. Simply because it would also cut down on having to go to your own submission page to see how a certain story is doing or having to hunt through to find out when something was posted.

okay, i'm going to disagree. since i don't really care about my scores it doesn't matter to me to have a shortcut to see mine, and once i've decided to read an author's stories i'm not likely to mind the score, just hit the author page and look for a description i think i'd like.

rather than having the score on the author page, i'd like to see what category each story is.

May I refer you to my earlier post on this thread (two posts up), now edited...

Personally I thought Alex's previous post was a thread stopper.

John & Georgia having fallen from #1 on the " Exhibitionist and voyeur" list to #18 don't change the fact youse has great scores.

Well, thank you,SH. I hadn't known it was even up there. I was just happy it was hanging in the extreme tail end of the top 500.

Now THAT is a story that's meant to be read one handed.

Hur hur,

I've decided that I'm not going to speak to anyone who has better ratings than I. Everyone with better ratings is so on the ignor list.

So there.

Damn it's quiet in here. Everyone's on ignore.

Speak to me, Muffie. I'm sure all my stuff has falled back to where it belongs.

not that I talk much around here but damn I think I might have been on ignore somehow. Although My ratings are nowhere near where I would like them to be.

Number One in Erotic Horror

Master Vassago is Number 1 and 7 in Erotic Horror to my 13 and too low to feature.

Should I ignore him or congratulate him?

I am aiming for an all-time low with a well written story. Unlike the DurtGurl masterpieces I am trying to get a low score with correct spelling, passable grammar, a plot and erotic content that turns people OFF.

Donna and White Scut are scoring too high. Now for the depths.

Dear Og,
I tried that a couple of times, and it didn't work. Nobody read the stories and those that did, didn't vote. I had them removed, because they made the rest of my stuff look even worse than it is.

Good luck, but I'll bet it doesn't work. Your estimable abilities might be better spent by writing some verses for the DG Group's next "Batchelor's Hand."
