There are six contests now, spaced roughly every two months. Adding more would diminish the quality of the entries in those, because there would be less time to polish a story before submitting it. For a couple of years, there was a "How to" contest, but that was dropped, probably from lack of interest. I believe most authors don't like to be restricted to writing in a specific category when writing, whether for a contest or not.

I'd love to see "team" contest authors pair up and deliver a 2 chapter chain story. To make it more interesting any author who wants to compete signs up and Lit pairs you together so you are writing with someone you "don't know" You would have a week to correspond with your partner and get the story out there. Not sure about fun but interesting considering the diverse styles on here. It would just be work for lit because I think each author would have to say what category they prefer to write in and get paired by that. I mean the "first time" people with the "non consent crowd" could be a tough pairing.
