sorry if this isn't the right place for this. (i didn't see another forum with BDSM discussion)

Please pass this along to your groups or others that would be willing toparticipate in the survey.

The National Leather Association-International (NLA-I) Domestic
ViolenceProject announces the release of a new Intimate Partner
Violence Survey. The National Leather Association-International (NLA- I) has been setting the pace in the leather/BDSM/Fetish/Kink community in regard to domestic violence since the 1980s, starting with the first published draft of the NLA Statement on the differences between S/m and domestic violence. 2004 will mark a year of continued growth and vision for the NLA-I's Domestic Violence Project, starting with our newest endeavor - the Intimate Partner Violence Survey. The Intimate Partner Violence Survey is designed to begin the process ofgathering data to help determine the extent of this crime within our community. Data collected from this survey will assist the Domestic Violence Project with the implementation of
educational programs to domestic violence and sexual assault centers across the country. If you are interested in taking this survey, please go to:

This survey will be a preliminary start on more comprehensive work in the future. Your time and energy in completing this survey are much appreciated. For more information contact : boydvprojectnlai @ aol.com.

This is a fine place to post it.

I take it that since this is a "national" organisation, this is a U.S. only survey? Please bear in mind that this IS an international site, and many of us do not live in the U.S.

I intend to look it over when I have a chance. I am also interested in the results.

If there is any question about whether this thread is appropriate.

It is.

:)

The survey is international.

That's great then.

They should get more comprehensive findings.

I would be really pleased if the findings do not support what the nilla world automatically assumes....that BDSMers have a history or propensity for dv.

We will see.

I took it as well. It's insane that they think that any form of BDSM is abuse. I had to keep replying "Other...it never happened"

Valid question. The organization might have started out as a "national" one then slapped the "I" on when it grew. Just a wild ass guess, but their original name might have some copyright issues they wish to keep, kinda like a brand people identify with like say, McDonald's means fastfood. In our case, someone uses the word "Lit" in a conversation, we don't think match, college, drunkeness, nor books. Well, i take that back ... some of the pervies may think fireplay, but hey ... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/363868/atom.gif
