Oscars...I don't get it(?)

If you really wanted me to, I would be happy to give a list, based on your appreciation of those three, of movies I believe you could rent and enjoy.

just offerin'. not gonna be pissed if you ain't interested.

Other than taking the grandkids to see Harry potter each time, the last movie I saw in a theatre was Kingdom of Heaven, even bought the DVD.

The Band of Brothers series on HBO is the best thing since The Longest Day! :D
Kids gave me the DVDs :p

PM a list, I'll look at it and see :D

It can also be irritating to have to track these movies down in order to see them. Like Jenny said, it's so much easier to wait for them to come out on dvd. But if you haven't seen them the Oscars matter even less to you. So in the end I guess it comes down to priorities and just how much you care about knowing.

I didn't watch, and other than asides by ESPN Radio hosts (who work for the same company that was broadcasting the awards) I wouldn't have a clue what any of the awards were.

The one bit of trivia I did pick up was that only one movie from the top 25 box-office leaders won an Oscar for anything!

As a Kid, the Oscars were a big deal and the films that won were also films that "made money" for the most part. In the last few decades, the Oscars have increasingly shunned box-office leaders and become increasingly irrelevant to movie-goers.
