Greetings,

Am I the only that gets a brief headache immediatley after having an orgasm? Surprisingly, its more common from masturbating than sex with my wife.

No, this can be a common problems for males depending on their structure and health issues they may have.

Basicly in the simplest explainable way, your just getting a head rush (when blood flows to your head) as all the blood in your penis effectively flows back into your body when it gets soft.

but since the blood is inindated with hormones, when it flows through out your head, you may get a little hazy, dizzy, minor headaches, temp. loss of hearing, temp. blury vision. all of this is perfeclty normal and should not occure for longer than a minute.

if you feel these symptoms for longer than 10 minute then you should seek medical help for it could mean that your liver (used to sift the hormones out of your blood) could be damaged and not sifting the hormones out.

also, this explains why males always have to take a piss after every time they get a good hard-on.

According to what I read, these sorts of headaches effect a small percentage of the population-more men than women. There are medicines available if the problem is persistent.

Lately for me, I experience a stabbing pain in the back of my head just before orgasm. It continues for a while afterwards. This has become a problem for me only over the past few weeks-I've been masturbating like a fiend. I attribute the headaches to the hormones too. I plan to seek my gyno's assistance if it continues much longer-just to be safe.

Try to chart when and how long your symptoms occur. It will help if you do decide to see your doctor! Someone else told me to ease up on the masturbating to see if it helps. Yikes!

Best wishes!

Sometimes I experience similar. After orgasm, I get an intense stabbing pain in my upper neck, just below the skull. It's so painful I can barley move, and lasts all night. Luckily it happens very rarely. I can't seem to find a cause.

Yet another thing wrong with this crappy body...anyone wanna trade?

I get these very occasionally, but it seems to only happen after either a full-body or multiple orgasm when, to be perfectly honest, I'm in such a high state I couldn't really care bout a tiny headache as "other parts" are usually a tad more sore after such a pounding.

Don't really know about this as I've never had a headache after orgasm.

Could it be dehydration?

Im not sure, mine last very briefly, less than a minute or so towards the frontal lobe area.

This is normal all though more so in women then men, but it is caused by the sudden rush in hormones and blood flow to one area. I get them occasionally usually just laying still for awhile and relaxing usually helps. If not I take some pain killers and Im good.

you might want to try drinking more water too, like any kind of physical excercise, you can lose a lot of moisture from your body. leading to headaches and dizziness.

I had a couple of experiences around 18 months ago where I had an orgasm that was from masturbation during sex. I ended up with an instant migrane, one case was so bad I ended up throwing up and had to be taken to hospital where they put me on a morphine drip and gave me 3 doses before it calmed down to bearable. To be on the safe side I was given a cat scan to make sure I hadn't had a brain bleed (can't spell the right word) due to the pressure at the time of orgasm.

It only happened once or twice but was pretty worrying at the time. Nothing showed up a being wrong with me - it was just one of those things.
