Opposites (Closed for CuteDanny21 and I)
It was pouring out and Ava, the ever lucky one she is, had thought she could make it back to the apartment before the storm hit. She had thought wrong. Walking into the empty apartment had been unnerving since the roommate wasn't around and so in walking in- it had been dark, and she was freezing from getting caught in the downpour.
"Jesus." And as always Jasmine, the roomie, had set the A/C at 70 and it felt a hell of a lot colder than it should be to Ava. Shivering she set out to turn on a few lights so as not to trip over anything before beelining straight for the thermostat to set it just a bit over 75. Sopping wet curls swayed against her back, the droplets falling from the tips continuing to be absorbed by the shirt. It was only a matter of time before she was hopping from the living room to her bedroom and moving straight for the bathroom with her pajamas in hand.
Slender fingers worked on unbuttoning her jeans before attempting to peel them down her legs, her butt meeting the wall for support as a grunt or two escaped her in her effort. Jeans now off she tossed them onto the counter before heading for the shower and sliding the glass door aside to run the water, making sure to turn it completely to the left as she planned to have it as hot as it could go. Next the socks were gone, underwear following before the shirt was pulled up above her head only to have her flinch in response to her cold curls meeting her back.
The bathroom slowly began to fill with steam and the heat of that alone warmed her immensely, an appreciative sigh now escaping her as she undid her bra to free her 36C sized breasts. The discarded bra went along with every other article of wet clothing with a flick of her wrist before stepping into the shower with another appreciative sigh. The water ran over her as she stepped under the spray, the streams were openly welcomed as her head tilted back and her hands rose to push her hair over her shoulders.
The lights flickered as thunder rolled and that comfortable feeling was somewhat told to be cut short, in which she complied in silence and lathered herself up quickly before washing her hair. But that cold that had rocked her so hard was now gone and she was thankful for it, although she wasn't going to take any chances with getting sick. It would be the last thing she needed. Once dressed in a pair of flannel bottoms and a baby tee, she made sure to don socks before walking around barefoot. Just having been crossing the cold tiles of the kitchen the phone began to ring and she turned and reached out to answer the wailing cry.
"State your business."
"I've told you I just love the way you answer the phone, right?"
"Over and over again. Where are you?"
"I'm stuck at the movie theater with Rich until the storm passes. There's no way in hell I'm going out in the pouring rain and messing up my hair, or even taking a chance driving in this shitty weather. Crazy people are out on the streets."
The comment made her laugh. Jasmine had always been somewhat of a paranoid, materialistic person.
"Ok, ok. Becareful and remember that you and Rich aren't the only two people there. At least sneak off."
"Way ahead of you. Oh, Jordan said that he might be dropping by to pick up some of things Rich left from last week, if the weather permits. Be nice."
The call was ended and Ava was left chuckling as she hung up the phone with a smirk, the thought of Jordan's company for a brief few moments crossing her mind. Thunder clashed again and she winced, thinking it would be better if she made something to eat quickly before the power had a chance to go out. Also making a mental note to light a few candles just in case. Two hours later she had fallen asleep on the couch, her psych book in her lap and a comforter wrapped up around her keeping her warm. Candles were lit although the power hadn't gone out, she had left them lit just in case the storm began to rage again.
The sound of someone knocking on the door was almost lost on her, the sound faint in her dreams but upon the knocking getting louder she awoke startled and rubbed her eyes with the heels of her hands before hearing Jordan's voice through the door.
"Open up, girl."
"Oh shit, hold on." She pulled at the covers after having closed her book and tossed it on the coffee table, fixing her pajamas before sweeping her chocolate colored curls back over her shoulder in a memorized movement as she made her way towards the door. Upon opening it her hazel eyes found her reflection staring back at her through the large silver lensed Aviators the guy before her was wearing. "What, no 'Chips' uniform?"
A little background info in terms to Ava and Jordan's "relationship". They're very much opposites, on the surface at least when it comes to musical tastes, movies, etc. She happens to be a very mellow person, always smiling and joking around. Amiable and friendly, a sweetheart. As to where Jordan tends to be surly, hard to please, stubborn, cocky and very arrogant. But either way something attracts and repels them at the same time. Attracts for the simple fact that they're different in personalities and backgrounds (she was brought up to work for what she wants, as was he but his family comes from money), and also repels because they just can't seem to really connect. It may start slowly as, on the surface, they might have few common interests. However, once they understand one another they may learn they have much more in common than was first apparent.
I would love for someone to take Jordan on and do him justice. Someone willing to put thought into their posts, and something more than just one or two lines. I apologize for sounding picky. But I would love to have this thread just be Ava and Jordan for now and as it progresses I was thinking of bringing in Jasmine, the roommate, and Rich, her boyfriend/Jordan's best friend. Please PM me if interested.
