While viewing my submission page, I found where a story previously approved was rejected; reason given was someone reported it as "snuff". This is the second time for this to happen to the same story for the same reason.
The husband murders his cheating wife, her lover, and gets away with it. No sex during murders, no sex after for husband, no arousal in husband before, during, or after, so how is this "snuff"?
fanfare's "Two Wrights" series both have murders in them with the ones in the first being more extreme than the ones in mine.
Last chapter in a series that isn't complete without it so do I a) keep defending it, b) re-write (not something I want to do), or c) remove entire series?
I honestly would like honest, thoughtful opinions from my fellow authors.
Thanks ahead of time to all who respond.

Honestly? Just let it go. It's not the only story you'll ever write, is it? And you gave it away for free, didn't you? So, why is it worth the heartburn--and bringing it to the forum--not to just let it go?

As described, it doesn't seem to qualify as snuff, which involves sex.

Stories do get rejected for excessive violence, but having worked with someone to figure that one out, I know there's a specific rejection for that aside from the snuff rejection.

Is this the same chapter that was previously reported? Was it reinstated -- unchanged -- after discussing it with Laurel? Or, did you delete/repost without a direct discussion? ( again, unchanged )

If you had a discussion with Laurel and the same chapter was reinstated without making changes, then I'd say to keep the pressure on. Odds are you're a victim of Laurel being the only one dealing with the day-to-day operations of the site, and having forgotten she reinstated the chapter at a previous time.

If it's any other situation, you may be best off just letting it go.
